Here you'll find artworks, sketches, and doodles, by the author, centered in the world of The Guardian Series.
A picture of a nokken woman, my aquatic species in Eris. This is a race that doesn't come up till later in the series, but I've been spending a lot of time thinking about them lately.
An older drawing of Thomas, one of the members of The Council of Bain. He's kind, calm, refined, and not totally able to be himself.
A group of stickers I designed to sell at the Baltimore Book Fest of the main characters of Heroes of Another Age.
A bit of an older, speed painting, but this is Bain, the progenitor of all werewolves on Eris. He won't appear until much, much later in the series. It's still nice to give him a nod.
Another Inktober sketch, but this one is of the fortune teller Marilyn speaks with in Heroes of Another Age.
The first in a set of Heroes of Another Age stickers I'm hoping to create for live event giveaways.
This is the northen third of Jenoha, one of the two major continents on Eris. There are of course other lands masses, islands and things, but Jenoha and Rahovan are the two continents that all of the books in the Guardian series take place on (so far).
This was the original concept I drew for the cover to my book Heroes of Another Age. I have no actual experience in cover design, so I'm letting the professionals take a try at it.
Here you'll see photos, taken by the author, of places throughout the world that have given her joy and inspiration.
A picture from one of the five panels I was involved with at Marson, The Ever changing Landscape of MG/YA. I had a ton of fun and will totally be attending next year.
I had a great time at Baltimore Book Fest. I met a lot of great people, sold a lot of books, and expanded my knowledge of the industry just a bit more.
A recent picture from my trip to Sweden. Me in a lovely little viking bar in Stockholm. I recommend the mead.
Picking out a kimono in Kyoto, Japan. This was an amazing trip, in part because it was one of the biggest trips with my husband, and the fact that I've been in love with Japan since I found anime when I was 11. Japan is a wonderful place to visit.
For my birthday last June, I went on a trip to the Galapagos with my mother and sister. It was amazing, you could get so close to the wildlife and they just didn't care. Like this 2-month-old sea lion pup. I crouched down to take a picture and he passed right by me without pause. It was a fantastic trip.
The gardens outside of the tea house at the Shogun's residence in Kyoto, Japan.
I visited Japan in 2018 for my 10th wedding anniversary. I'd been in love with Japan's art and culture since I was young, and once I got there, I gound it was every bit as magnificent as I'd been dreaming it would be.
Here you'll find scraps of art, doodles, sketches, and who knows what else.
A gift for my mother, who loves horses.
A small gift for a co-worker of mine, just to say "thanks for all the help and support". It's a Blue Tiger butterfly settled an a marigold.
On top of asking me to be an advanced listener for her audiobook, M.E. Harker also asked to do an art exchange with me. Here’s my half of the trade: Casey C. Cassandra just finishing up her latest tuneup on her steadfast sidekick, Charles Mk 1.
A thumbnail pen and ink sketch for a challenge called Inktober, where you draw one picture every day in the month of October. This is definitely one of my favorite.
Like the Unicorgi, this was apparently part of my "BubbleGum Period". Not sure where these two appeared from, but they're still kind of fun.
I drew this for my great friend Brent. When I think of him, this is what I imagine his spirit animal would look like. Just looking at it makes me happy and so does he.
