Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Happy Birthday, Daddy! We love you very much!

Here is your present from your mom - USPS Tour of duty plaque.

And here is the cake ... it was delicious! Sorry - we will make another one when you come home! Maybe then Derek will share and let you have a piece.

They say that the batter is the best - apparently so! I think we could have baked half a dozen cupcakes more if these two were not helping :). They were so cute, they did not fight at all - they were taking turns licking the spatula, each from one side.

And this is our final product - strawberry whopper chocolate white cake. Children picked all the ingredients thinking of what daddy likes. There is seven candles for daddy's celebration (and please, honey, forgive the two pink ones - I guess it's time to get a new box of b-day candles :)).

Derek's initiation to the dino-hunting clan

Today was Derek's first time at the Dinosaur museum.
I could not choose only one picture - he is such a cutie on all of them.

We had so much fun - again! This time we managed to put three heads on the dinosaur (I dare not to come up with a name for the creature).

Now Tommy's enacting daddy's "brilliant" idea of strawberry whoppers and milk! He said it was yummy - well, I am glad I didn't have to taste it :)!

Tommy has three new hats and flip flops (all for $1.00). It was hard to pick one.

And of course, giggle, giggle, giglle - goofing around!

Emma got a new hat, scarf, and gloves (gloves are little too big, but oh well - they will keep her warm until we lose them).

Won Won Wok experience

This whole week children were asking me if we could go eat out. I was not too sure, since they have not been eating too well lately. But they promised they would behave and eat, and they were good pretty much all day, so I risked it.
What do you know - we do have well-behaved children who are polite, do not drink ketchup or soysauce, and eat their dinner really nicely (and almost all up). Thank you children - it was a treat for me as well as for you!

Well, almost to the end - when I was paying at the counter, I put a little box with leftover sesame chicken on Derek's lap. All of a sudden Tommy screams: "Mom, mom, Derek's eating our chicken!" And so was he - handful of that chicken, shoving it in his mouth as fast as he could, smiling at everyone around! Of course, I didn't manage to take a picture of that, but I will always remember how we went out for dinner and Derek had to taste it with us.

Let it snow!

November 5, 2008 and we got another snow storm. Kids absolutely loved it! Tommy was hoping that the snow will still be around when he comes back from school, but of course it wasn't.
