Easter Baskets of Fun!

After a few days off recovering from surgery, Lynn was back to work, hanging out with friends, and back to everyday life! She’s had her check-ups and all is well!

In March, we had the joy of watching Dan’s cousin Travis run in his HS meet that’s held at the Iowa State indoor track. He did great and we had a lot of run chatting with Dave & Christa! Dan especially likes to watch track meets!

Easter weekend, we headed up to Rosebud Indian Reservation with a bunch of families and students from our church to help with community development through a variety of projects. Dan’s main role was playing piano in the band they put together for a community event on Friday night. It was a long drive but well worth it, to see what God is beginning to do in that community!

On Easter Sunday we were back to Clarksville and had the pleasure of staying with Matt & Ashley and worshipping with their church family on Sunday. We had Easter brunch at Barb & Dave Peters (Dan’s aunt & uncle), although unfortunately without the annual Easter egg hunt, since it had snowed that morning and was quite a cold day! We also enjoyed a bit of March Madness…. (which by the way Lynn choose Kansas to win!) Dan spent some time cleaning out his childhood room and the finds were priceless...

We had another late season snow storm on April 12th, which happened to be VEISHEA at ISU, one of Lynn’s favorite time of year. We visited Beta Sig and found out what some of the future plans for the fraternity on campus, but the best part was getting to see some of our good college friends!

Lynn visited her best friend Kate with another good friend Jess in Des Moines one afternoon, which was a great time to chat & catch up, especially since Jess will be heading to GA for the summer and Italy next fall!

Lynn had the chance to talk at our friend’s Mark junior high class about Thailand last week. The students were great, asking wonderful questions and interacting.

We had our friends James & Krista Townsend for dinner as well, it was so fun to get together with friends we don’t see very often!

This past weekend, Dan headed to the Men’s Retreat with other Cornerstone Men, called Band of Brothers. He had a great time meeting with God and other men of Cornerstone. One of the highlights for all the men is Saturday afternoon, when they have a paint-ball war for 4 hours! Dan loved being an armor-bearer for Reed! Lynn hung out with some girlfriends & scrapbooked all weekend!

We enjoyed Pi Beta Phi taco dinner on Sunday evening with our friends Tom & Wendy. Dan ate 8 tacos! Then we played Masterminds with Tom & Wendy (they're astro-physicist)... did you know that 078-00-112- is used by billfold manufactures on example social security cards to show where to put it in their wallet and thousands of people have used it as their real social security number (since 1938!) and it took 20 years to sort it all out! This took Dan & Tom quite awhile and lots of “yes” and “no” questions, but they figured it out in the end! Congrats geniuses (or masterminds!)

The beginning of summer traveling is starting this weekend, as we travel to MN to see family! Hopefully we’ll see you sometime this summer!
