We made the long journey from Van, Turkey to the Midwest... overall it went well, just a few minor glitches (which didn't seem minor at the time but hey, that's what traveling tired with baby will do to you!).
We're thankful to be back and loved getting to see family... so far Amara has met both sets of grandparents and two of her great-grandmothers. We're been hanging out in MN the past few days and will head to IA on Tuesday/Wednesday.
As glad as we are to be home, it was really hard to leave our friends in Turkey. They've become like family to us... we love playing and looking after their kids, we know almost exactly where everything is in their kitchens, we laugh about all the funny culture things, play games, watch movies, exchange recipes, spend EVERY holiday together! It'll be hard not to see them 2+ times a week! Our sweet friend Sheryl wrote this blog post last week, and so perfectly sums up our feelings too!
As excited as we are to see so many friends & family on this side of the pond, we'll be sad not to see our dear friends for a long time....
Jack, Sheryl, Klaire, Ava, & Lorelai...
Reed, Rachael, Asher, and Urban....
We LOVE you and already MISS you!
