This Week

Went back to school after Christmas Break 2012 - A student in my Civics class said that he was moving. I was very sad to hear this as I adore him. He is a deeper thinker and "GETS" what I am teaching in class as we look at our freedoms being lost on a daily basis. Before going to school that morning I prayed to the Lord that I could see his children as he sees them. - The next day he was in the hall following his mother to the office to get his records and leave. She was just chewing him out and calling him a name or two. I was a ways behind them and we were the only ones in the hall. It hurt my heart - because I did not see him like that at all. Then I realized that - that was how Heavenly Father saw him.

My Valentine

Image

Valentine's Day - A time for lovers both young and old. - I LOVE my Valentine - We took a picture but they will email it to us. I will post it later.

We went to the Jonesboro Stake Valentine's Day Dance - for Adults ONLY - We had a blast! It was deocrated with an old fashion 1898 Valentines Theme - The signs were printed like that. We danced the night away!

Image
They had an old fashion ice cream shop - where you made your own banana split how you like it. Dad partook - I was good and did not.

ImageThe Valentine Dance had an old time theme - They scrolled pictures of old fashioned Valentines that you cannot get any more. I found a few - Aren't they cute.

A Barber Shop Quartet at the Valentine Dance.

Image Vickie Wilcox came over to our table and gapped Dad and said she needed him in a Barber Shop Quartet and to come practice once through the song. They rolled out the piano and 5 brothers sang in harmony "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" then all of the rest of us sang it through the next time. They wore the hat in the picture below.

These were some of the decorations - the Hat Dad wore in the Barber Shop Quartet

My Shoes

I love Shoes! I love My shoes! I would say that I have a plethora of shoes to choose from to wear. I have several places of which I store my shoes. One place is very organized as the picture below displays. This is part of a well organized wall of shoes.

Image
Another place that I store my shoes is not quiet as organized because I lack the room to store ALL of my shoes in an organized manner.

Image On last Wednesday, I decided to find my most comfortable shoes to wear to school. So.. I quickly found a pair and didn't give it much further thought. As I was sitting in my chair talking to the kids in my class - I had crossed my legs. It was THEN that I noticed that I had about a 1 1/2" tear in my shoe. That was 1st period. So.. 2nd period I had crossed the OTHER leg and THEN noticed that I had the same type of tear in my OTHER shoe.

Image After walking around during my planning period and having to go to various places - my shoe ended up looking like this!! - I was concentrating on my work - by 5th period I crossed my legs and realized that it had gotten much worse! In fact the black rubber was flopping around and one female student said Mrs. Bond is your shoe ripped. I said yes! She said I noticed it because of that black thing flopping around!!
It seems to be some kind of poetic justice for someone like me who loves shoes to totally be humiliated with a sloppy pair of shoes on my feet!! It's not like I didn't have shoes to choose from. But I vaguely remember seeing these shoes with a rip and thought that I would just get them repaired and promptly put them on my shoe rack! Later of course to wear them to School by accident!!!! Funny I am still having a hard time putting them in the trash. Its like parting from a good friend.
Now to make matters worse for my self esteem - I am getting to the point that I cannot wear heels any longer even for a few hours to church! - Last time I wore my cute boots with heels I thought that I wouldn't make it home the balls of my feet hurt so bad. So.... I went out and bought some cute flat soled shoes. I gave away 3 pairs of my cute heeled boots to Katie Brentlinger who is young and cute and can wear them!
Life Sucks sometimes!

Proud of my school boy

Image
Bill has a 4.0 transfer grade into Macon State - He begins there in Aug. - He has mapped out his entire course of study and it is in a notebook - Wow what organization! - His student advisor was very impressed and said Well you will be successful at anything you chose to do here.

She said that after this semester he could enter the nursing program, and gave several tips about entering the CRNA program. - Macon State has a campus at Warner Robbins which is about 17 miles farther south of Macon State Campus - She says he could get in there quicker because of the time table of which he will be ready - Under the Nursing Program he will spend only 1 day a week in class - the rest is spent in practicum in a hospital that he will be assigned to. So... things are looking up. As far as the home repair business - it is going well at the present we are shocked at the amount of work he is getting. But there are NO guarantees in that business and it comes to a halt in the winter months.

Assortment of thoughts and pictures

On the farm at the chimney. Judy, Carla, Everett, Bonnie
Image
At the Gulf Coast Beach in Mississippi while Dana was in the hospital - Eliza is having a new experience with the sand on her feet.

Image
My Oldest and My Youngest - Aren't they beautiful

Image
Memories - the Time Line on these pictures are backwards but it is too much trouble to put right - Playing games outside when Dana first got out of the hospital.

Image
Image To a mother's/Mutta's delight they ALL came to church with us. We are missing one family - and then a Great Grandmother and a Great Grandfather. - Humm - I think we did well. I hope you notice who is in the center of this family - Christ.

Image What a zoo - but the animals were fun.

Image 2. Christmas was so... much fun. A lot of confusion and noise but it was mostly happy noises. A few dust-ups but all in all with24 people in my 2,000 square foot house - we did well - EVEN in the small kitchen!

Image This nativity scene is my favorite Christmas decoration - I can just imagine Joseph carring a latern and leading Mary and infant Jesus in the dark. I think he was very strong, wise and righteous to be the guide and mentor to the Savior of the World. I know he was the protector of his little family.
Image1. My School Boy -
Bill has started back to school. He is working math here. - I felt like I was sending my little boy off to school the first day he went back. I felt very protective and motherly toward his new experience.
