About the Dalhousie University Dataverse

Dalhousie University Dataverse is a free to use research data repository for our faculty, students, and staff. It provides a platform to deposit data, obtain persistent identifiers, and version control datasets. Files are held in a secure environment on Canadian servers. Researchers can choose to make content public or limit access.

Getting Started

We use a semi-mediated approach to deposit, which means researchers can create an account and deposit data in our institutional collection. We review the data to ensure basic metadata is accurate and complete, then publish. Use our checklist when preparing your data deposit. If a research team produces multiple data sets over time, they may choose to create a subcollection (or Dataverse) of their own. Interested researchers can email the Research Data Management Team to initiate set up. For information on best practices for research data management, consult our Research Data Management Guide.
