The University of Waterloo Dataverse Collection is a multidisciplinary data repository for the research outputs of Waterloo faculty, students, staff, and affiliated researchers. Files are held in a secure environment on Canadian servers through Borealis. Researchers can choose to make content available to the public, to specific individuals, or to keep it private.


Steps for depositing your research data:

  1. Review Waterloo’s deposit guidelines before getting started.
  2. Work through the depositor checklist and prepare a README file for your deposit [REQUIRED]. A README template is available.
  3. Submit your deposit for review using the Borealis Quick Deposit Guide.The Library’s Research Data Management team will review and provide feedback within 5–10 business days from submission of your complete deposit [data & documentation]. Learn more about what happens post-deposit.
