Published!

We have been so bad at keeping this blog updated, but we are going to try and do better. So much has happened since we last wrote. We have had a very busy but fun summer. We went to Cedar City for the Summer Games, where Jeremy competed in tennis. He did pretty well for just starting to play again. We were able to stay a few days in St. George with family, which was also a blast.

We took a short trip to Seattle for the 4th of July and visited Jeremy's brother and his family. It was a lot of fun and we can't wait to go back and spend some more time there. Our summer has also been filled with weddings, and it has been a lot of fun to go eat free food and catch up with old friends.

Our most recent good news is that Rachelle was recently published in the CDC's Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) journal. She is the primary author and the article deals with her thesis research for her Master's degree. EID is one of the top five infectious disease journals in the world, and it is a wonderful opportunity for Rachelle to have her work recognized. The wonderful thing about the journal is, because it is a government journal, access is free! Go check it out. The link is: http://www.cdc.gov/eid/content/13/8/1225.htm.

We're busy, busy, busy!

The past couple of weeks have been VERY busy for Jeremy and me. Last week my cousin, Melissa, was married in the Bountiful temple. It was a wonderful ceremony, and Jeremy and I always have so much fun seeing our family from my dad's side. That night we were also given tickets to the Jazz game by Jeremy's parents. We were able to sit center court in the lower bowl for game 3 of the Western Conference Finals. It was amazing!

Things have been getting really busy for both of us at work, as well. With the weather so warm, people are coming into Jeremy's work for pond plants in droves. At the health department we are under a time crunch to develop disease investigation plans and an electronic reporting system for all of the communicable diseases our program tracks. It is a lot of work, but the final product should be really cool!

Utah Jazz!

ImageJeremy and I went to game 6 in the playoff between the Utah Jazz and the Houston Rockets yesterday. We had so much fun. We are pretty spoiled because when we usually go, we get to sit in Jeremy's dad's seats in the lower bowl. This time we were in the upper bowl, and we were so far up I couldn't tell which player was which. But we still had a blast. It was so loud. Our section kept yelling, "Houston sucks, Houston sucks!" It was very different than being down in the lower bowl with all the rich, older people. And, of course, the Jazz won 94-82! Before the game, Jeremy and I made predictions of the final score. Jeremy's prediction: 84-72. Rachelle's prediction: 96-82. Image
