A real 3.5 star Sunday afternoon thriller. A little ham fisted and broad take on a brief moment in the US that is post Oklahoma City bombing and pre-9/11 where domestic terror was more omnipresent. It does have a tidy little structure and the ending has its surprises!!
A taut little thriller! A neo noir about Rob Lowe’s character who is a bad influence AND really gets a LOT done in a day. TY to You Must Remember This pod for turning me on to this.
A nice British mystery suspense thriller very well directed with a slow burn 70s pace. I don’t know French which made the isolation and disorientation of being somewhere in trouble and not being able to communicate really stand out for me. The smart trick of the title mixed with the never ending daylight is a good idea. There is also a genius shot at the end that they should have rolled credits over even though I totally understand why it cuts to the next shot. Some excellent score here as well. You can recommend movies like this to me allllll day.
