Man, what an awesome film! It seems like every year, there’s a new horror movie that just blows everyone away and though Obsession isn’t necessarily breaking any new ground, it’s still such a visceral and kickass film. It certainly carries the tone of an Evil Dead film where the horror is both effective but also kind of funny which is by no means a criticism of the film as whilst I wasn’t scared, I was definitely disturbed at points.

A haunting gothic masterpiece. Nosferatu exceeded in every single aspect. Robert Eggers truly has outdone himself. 

The cinematography of this film is gorgeous, Eggers creates such a visceral and atmospheric story that wonderfully unfolds and utilises its slow burn storytelling to its best. So many shots of this film are simply mesmeric and the lighting coupled with the phenomenal sound design creates such a visceral experience.
