Tricks you into thinking it'll be a normal sports movie for 30 minutes before evolving into the most batshit, nightmarish, Safdie-esque Safdie comedy of errors to date. The third act of this might be the most exhilarated I've been by a movie all decade.
Timmy dropped his fat little nuts on everyone with this one
I’ve been thinking a lot about the honey scene

when you see this movie, you’ll feel like you got your cock sucked by a vacuum cleaner
NO FUCKING NOTES. I arrived knowing this would be great but i left completely and utterly dazzled. Josh got the juice but he obviously fucking knows coz there’s no way you pull this off without knowing you’re THE fucking shit. Heartfelt, explosive, raw and sweaty with pace and desperation and humor in abundance, from the sperm credits at the beginning to the tears at the end. I felt it all. Timothée was inspired: performance of a lifetime type vibes but obviously if he’s already hit this level then there’s undoubtedly so much more in the tank. Odessa is a rocket, i could watch her all day. Plus Abel! Fran! Gwenyth! Isaac (i squealed when he arrived)! Hailey! Tyler! Dan Lopatin on…
never get in the way of a crazy ass white boy trying to go to japan

the final movie of christmas parent-a-palooza. they did not like it.
I have seen a lot of people talk about the Holocaust scene in different ways ranging from confusion to reading it as a joke, and while I ultimately think it's unfair to call any reading of a movie as wrong (and this movie in particular sets itself up to be read without authorial intent) I don't think that scene is at all meant to be humorous. The score makes it feel like it might be at a point, but I find it incredibly sincere.
Earlier in the film, Marty makes a truly shocking joke about finishing Kletzki off in a way that Auschwitz couldn't. And I'm sure Safdie knew…
