Presto growing...

Poor Presto... I haven't taken many pictures of him and frankly, he doesn't give me much to work with. Same look every time! But he is Presto Besto these days.
And his brother and sissy love him sooooo much!

Other memories of Winter 2012
I was mixing whipped cream and something fell into the bowl from the top shelf of my overly-stuffed-cupboards...so I got drenched.

We had a Family Home Evening about the Armor of God! So handy we had this USPS box sitting around to make our own armor with! The kids loved dressing up... although it was pretty ghetto.

Preston LOVES Princess...chasing her, laying on top of her, pulling her tail, etc. And she lets him. It's crazy. I  always stop him and help him to be gentle but this time I took a few pictures first!

Following the chain of events you can see that Princess BARELY moves each time! She never runs away...just moves a few more feet away and waits for Preston to get her again. She's a weird cat.

Christmas 2011

Well Christmas was wonderful, as usual! We spent Christmas in Maryland for the last time before Grandma and Grandpa Rueckert move West.
It was just us with Aunt Amanda and Auntie Linda.

Making our crazy amounts of Honey Cookies. Frosting and sprinkling according to Grandpa Rueckert's orders. The kids had a great time doing this!

Claire was just slightly obsessed with this pretty red twirly skirt. And it was a TWIRLY skirt. It belonged to Aunt Amanda and Claire wore it EVERY.DAY. She slowly became possessed by it as you can see in this photo...

These cute boys! This was Presto's first Christmas and I don't think I even got a decent picture of him!

Grandpa Rueckert always makes the table so pretty for Christmas.

CHRISTMAS MORNING-- hodge podge of pictures. We had to go to church in the middle and then came home to finish.

Claire gave Benson that little green car... that was already his.

And this little baby Preston, Prestonio, Presto, P...town.. cannot be called P$ anymore because he showed us a new side of him.
Seriously, who knew? I didn't.

And we actually got out of the house and did something as a whole family... we went bowling. The kids have been dying to do it again ever since.

Our first Santa Lucia 2011

Image

Some of my earliest memories of Christmas is doing Santa Lucia (or St Lucia) with my family. This comes from my Swedish heritage. This year, we did Santa Lucia with Benson and Claire for the first time. They were so excited. We invited friends over and made real Swedish saffron buns and pepparkakor (gingerbread).
Benson was a great Star Boy and Claire was a beautiful Lucia.

TURKEY DAY 2011

For Thanksgiving we decided to head out to Bryson City, North Carolina and spend the holiday in the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. We met up with some friends, the Piepgrass family.
We stayed in a great little cabin and had a great time RELAXING.

Next year we'll have to make it out earlier for the leaves.

ImageHiking... the weather was beautiful.
ImageMe with Bens and Claire. I don't know what it was this trip but Benson and Claire really hated looking at the camera.

THANKSGIVING DINNER!
It actually turned out alright... it was a good first experience. Turkey breast in a crockpot can't go wrong though...

ImageWe went to Dillsboro NC... TINY town. Really cute with lots of antique shops. Benson and Claire sick of pictures again.
At the General Store...ImageAnd with Mike and Petrea Piepgrass right before leaving.

The BiltmoreImageWe "stopped by" to see the Biltmore... thought we could catch a glimpse of it (see below) but it would cost us $200 for our family just to see it. Sooooo I took a picture of the entrance.
ImageIt was LAME!
Maybe someday we can afford to go there!
