NEENAH (WLUK) -- Miron Construction is bulldozing the stereotype that women don't belong in construction.

The company hosted about 40 female students Friday at its third annual Build Like a Girl event. The program introduces girls to the different fields available in the construction industry.

Miron officials say the number of female construction workers is pretty low.

This event is meant to change that.

"We have about 1,200 professionals that work in our field, in the crafts. Of those 1,200, at any time, four or five are women. So, for us, women are an untapped market of resources to fill our needs in the field," said Dave Walsh, vice president of human resources.

The students also visited a job site and took part in a Q and A session with women in the industry.
