Eligibility

  • Any student over the age of 18 enrolled in a college or university is allowed to participate. Teams can be up to four members - you can register with your team when you apply, any time after you’re accepted, or create a team at the event! Anyone can mentor at the event.
  • If you are younger than 18, but a Georgia Tech student, you can still participate.

Judging Criteria

  • Technical Depth
    Did the team approach the problem by learning new technical skills? Was the project solution well thought through? How robust is the project? Does it work beyond hard-coded values? Does the project have the potential to scale?
  • Design/Usability
    Is the project safe? Easy to use? Is the project designed well? Visually appealing? Is the project intuitive? Is it easy to understand how to use the project without explanations? Is the project friendly to its intended users?
  • Presentation/Demo
    Is the demo easy to understand? Is the presentation engaging? Does the team respond to questions well?
  • Novelty
    Did the hackers think of an out-of-the-box solution to a problem? Is the project idea clever or compelling? Does the project address a unique problem? Does the project have a "wow" factor?
