About
Fabiana Kubke: Neuroscience/Education/Open.
a.k.a. @kubke on twitter (and pretty much everywhere else).
I am a neuroscience researcher and teacher at the University of Auckland.
Everything we do is ultimately controlled by the brain, and I am fascinated by the diversity of behaviours that can be seen in different animals. I am trying to understand how different brain organisations allow the different behaviours to emerge in different animals and how that is achieved through development and evolution.
I am a big fan of science and education and am trying to do my best to follow the lead of those who are making it accessible to everybody.
I am an Academic Editor for PLOS ONE and PeerJ and Chair of the Advisory Board of Creative Commons Aotearoa New Zealand. My views are my own and do not necessarily represent those of the organisations I am affiliated with.

I am trying to understand how different institutional organisations allow different behavior to emerge in different people, and how this is achieved through professional development and adaptation.
Ha! Isn’t that the question we all have, eh? :) I’d love to be able to even scratch the surface of that. One place I keep an eye on is the Bioengineering Institute at UoAKL. They do a lot of work in the open space. Peter Hunter provides great leadership, and he might be a good brain to pick for that.
