On the verge of 4 months

So where are we?

Well, Mac is cutting his first tooth.  Not even 4 months and the poor guy has to suffer this atrocity (Scout didn’t cut his first tooth until fully 7 months old).  He is a drooly, gooey, fist-gnawing, slobbery, whining mess.  Yet, smile at him and he flashes a winning smile back.  What a champ.  I hope it won’t be this bad with each of his teeth.  Oh, and before anyone suggests teething beads/rings, wet cloths, numbing gels, etc, we’ve tried them.  He hates them all and screams.  Other ideas?

Mac has also found his hands and will stare at his clenched fist, studying it closely.  Both twins reach and grab for toys.

Peach found her voice!  Good grief, she lets out one heck of a squeal and you rush to see what is wrong, only to find her smiling and doing nothing more than testing her vocal chords.  Once you realize there is no emergency, it’s great fun to *chat* with her and she will happily chat back!

The twins are not rolling over yet, although Mr. BWUB claims he saw Mac giving it a whirl.

Scout adores his nursery school.  I asked who his favorite classmate is and he replied, “Mrs. Perry.”  She is one of the teachers and he loves her.  I asked about the kids and if there was a kid Scout liked.  He replied, “Um…no.”  So there you go.  Unfortunately, I may have to pull him out of that school when I return to work because his little class is only Tuesday and Thursday mornings 9-noon.  My mom agreed to care for the twins when I go back to work, but it looks like I’m going to have to find a full time program for Scout (no one person could manage all 3 kids at this point).  It’s a shame and makes me wish even more that I could be a stay-at-home mom.

As for me, I am only about 10 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight.  But sheesh, all my weight has shifted and I am round and soft and mushy.  The only non-maternity pants I fit into are my “fat pants.”  And what’s this belly ball-thing that hangs down?  Does  that thing go away?DSC07258 Sorry, I know these are not pretty photos…DSC07259

Otherwise, Christmas is coming and I have Scout’s gifts all purchased.  They are in the garage, but I don’t know when Santa will find time to wrap them.  The twins are getting socks and piggy banks.  That’s it.  I know, nice mommy, eh?  Well, honestly they don’t need a blessed thing and they won’t know the difference.  Besides, you can’t wrap hugs and kisses and they’ll get lots and lots of those.
