Governor's Ball 2010

I had a great time last year attending the Governor's Ball with my hunky hubs...so I was excited to hear we received another invitation this year! And since I only got to wear my gorgeous gown for a couple of hours then, I figured I'd dust it off okay, not really, it's been carefully protected in plastic and give it another whirl...just changed the hair and accessories for this go round...so fun to have an excuse to put on the lashes and stilettos! And true to the name, we DID have a ball!

Comfy Cozy Are We...

I don't know what I expect from her now that she's put up with four+ years of being photographed...it's getting pretty near impossible for me to get a pleasant pose out of the girl without some serious bribery or threat! She's just maturely decided that she has her own mojo...her own way to mug for the camera that is for sure better and more creative than Mom could ever dream up...and for this morning, showing off her new comfy-cozy pink leopard robe (and who doesn't need one of those??), she was right on! Love you, sassy
sweet-ums...

(And so, for all three of my blog readers, this begins a series of RETRO labeled posts intended to be arranged chronologically once they've posted...all in an attempt to CATCH UP!!)

I Don't Wanna Grow Up...

While I was busy doing a photoshoot, my little Fynn had to entertain herself...guess this is one way to do just that!

Ooh, Baby Do You Know What That's Worth? Ooh Heaven Is A Place On Earth...

Too late...it was planned, executed, done...and the photos looked oh-so-glorious...vintage decor...sunlit rooms full of crafting women...paper garlands draped between trees and swaying ever so slighty in the afternoon fall sun...sigh. I had missed it...I didn't even know it was a possibility...but I wasn't going to let it happen again...
The second it opened in 2010, Jessica and I registered...then we got giddy...WE were going to be a part of such an event THIS time around...our darling faces would adorn THAT sea of busy and bustling women...'cause, hey, we are CREATIVE, too!!
SPARK--all it takes is one little one to get you going...one compliment, one idea, one dream, one reality, one determination, one love, one passion...
Three absurdly gifted women (Liz Kartchner, Margie Romney-Aslett and Rhonna Farrer) are the creative muses we hailed as our leaders...they were the lighters of the sparks...and we were the willing SPARKETTES...Two days, no kids, no cares, lots of glue, plenty of ink, lots of hand motions, lots of laughs, new experiences, new faces, new desires kindled...we took classes, we swapped supplies, we got even more giddy....and, oh yeah, we ATE and ate and ate...so much fun...had such a blast with Jess (wouldn't have been even close to the same without her, actually...) and I feel SPARKED now...I really do...

The Only Thing Better Than Hairspray...That's Me!

What they do when they're bored...(I gave her a younger sister...she just doesn't have half the mop of her younger brother!)

Home, Home on the Range...

Yep...they finally did it...I knew they would...afterall, I've spent plenty of time in Wyoming with them throughout my life..and I knew SOMEDAY would eventually come...and it did...
River Meadows Ranch...by Barry and Su...or Mom and Dad...or Grammy Su and Grandpa Bar...it's theirs...all forty-something acres...a river...a pond...a real-life antique post-office... tons of structures...even a new fancy red tractor.
They have plans...and dreams...BIG dreams...and nothing but wide open spaces and a sky that goes on forever to make them come true...
