Opera anyone?

Die Fledermaus opens tonight!! I'm so nervous and excited, I feel like I'm going to explode.

I forgot to include some important information about the opera.

It's at Weber State University's Browning Center in the Austad Theater. You can get tickets at the door an hour before the show starts, or you can buy them over the phone at 1-800-Wsu-tiks, or online at weberstatetickets.com.

It's cheaper to buy them at the door. No handling fees to deal with!

Seating is first come, first serve so make sure you're there early.

I'm excited to see everyone. You won't regret it!!

Maestro.... Play the Music!

I'm in an opera

Image

and everyone should come see it!

Now, before you shy away from the dreaded "opera" word.... hear me out.

It's in English, there is dialogue, AND it's a comedy

Still unsure?

I'm the lead.

There. That should sway your decision to come, right?

Kidding, kidding.

But seriously, you will not regret going. We have such a talented cast, beautiful sets, amazing orchestra, and special entertainment.

The opera is Strauss' Die Fledermaus or The Bat.
I play Rosalinda von Eisenstein who helps play a prank on her husband, Gabriel von Eisenstein. Long story short, he ends up cheating on his wife, with his wife. Yes, that is correct. She dresses up as a mysterious Hungarian countess, whom he flirts with and doesn't realize that it is really his wife.
However, I am not so innocent myself, as I have an old lover appear in my house right after Gabriel leaves.

Sigh...

Such a tangled web we weave.

The show is March 10,11,12 at 7:30 pm with a matinee on the 12th at 2pm. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for students, children and seniors.

Please come, you will NOT regret it!!

It will be the perfect date night or night on the town.

Go to dinner before and then come to the show. You'll laugh, cry and have a good time!

And, you get to see me. What's not to love?

Need a little more convincing? Check this out.

4th Anniversary

Wow, Cody and I have been married for 4 years. It seems like we've known each other for much longer but it's only been a short amount of time.
We've accomplished a lot together, made a lot of great memories and grown so much from four years ago!
We've both graduated from college, which I never thought would happen and Cody received his Masters. I'm on my way to getting a Masters and building my voice studio.
Cody has had 2 jobs and I have had 5. Some fun....most not. Cody says I get bored easily :)
We've lived in an apartment and now are house sitting. We've owned 5 vehicles (really) and love what we own now. We've traveled to New York, California, Idaho and are one day hoping to go to North Carolina and in a couple of years going to Africa on a Safari. Thanks Logan :)
We love going camping together and have made a lot of fun memories along the way.

Since we've been married, we've both been involved in summer school so going camping and getting out together has always been a challenge. Homework, work, projects and money have just gotten in the way of doing the things that we want. For almost two years now I've been telling Cody it would be fun to have a campout in the living room or even in our backyard. That way we're at home, can use the internet if we need and walk inside for anything we need. He was okay with the backyard campout but wasn't too keen on the living room campout. So I patiently waited for when I could talk him into the idea.

When I brought up our anniversary a few months ago, he told me that he already had something in mind and everything was taken care of.

So, Wednesday, he came home and shooed me out the door so he could get things ready. I came back to pick him up and we drove to Chick-Fil-A for dinner. Now, it had just started snowing on our way there. Driving home was terrifying because the road was nearly invisible but we luckily made it home. Cody had to pry my hands off the steering wheel when we got home but we made it!

Then, he handed me a flashlight and told me to follow the trail...

I was so surprised that he did this!! I know... it probably seems lame but it was the sweetest thing and I loved everything about it!

We also exchanged gifts. He got me the cutest dress and jewelry.. And I got him a soft tackle box and a grill set for our new grill from my parents. We can't wait to use it when the weather decides to warm up!

Here's to many more wonderful years together. Looking forward to eternity babe!

Box Elder High School's Production of Phantom of the Opera

I had the best opportunity to work with my best friend Melanie on Phantom of the Opera. She's the director at Box Elder and let me come help out. I was officially the assistant to the director. Just call me Shrute everyone. :)

Before the production they held a benefit dinner that I got to perform at. Everyone dressed in black, red and white. There was a silent auction, entertainment and dinner and it was such a success!

When we went to Disneyland, we went to a professional performance of Phantom of the Opera at the Pantages Theatre. While there, our husbands bought us matching bracelets. We love them!

I feel so privileged to have worked on this show. The amount of work that went into it was absolutely amazing and I couldn't be more proud of everyone. I'm working on getting the professional photo's loaded so hopefully they'll be on soon. Then you'll see how amazing the show was.

Disneyland in October

I absolutely love Disneyland! So after my senior recital we decided to celebrate. It took some major convincing on my part to get Cody to Disneyland. He thought that it was only for kids. Silly boy.
As soon as we arrived (from the terribly long drive) we went straight to the park for some serious play time.

Frozen Lemonade is a must have. I looked forward to that thing for months! After Cody choked on the price he finally agreed to let me get one. And what do you know? He got one too :)

Bugs Life! I love this movie. Don't let Cody's face fool you... it was one of his favorite things there.

I love this picture. Day 2 in California Adventure.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye take 2. This was the first ride we went on and it just happened to get stuck for 15 minutes after we sat down and went a couple feet. It was depressing. So we went on it first thing in the morning. We had to leave as soon as they got us off to go to Phantom of the Opera that night. Which, I can't find any pictures of currently. Sad.

We had so much fun on this trip and I get to go back in April with Box Elder High's Play Productions class. Sadly, without Cody because it's tax season and he can't get off work. But I'm looking forward to going again! I can't get enough of the place.

Bryce and Melanie also got us into pin trading and I have to say it's the funnest thing ever! It's a must do everytime we go back. One day when we have enough money I want to go back once a year. Cody on the other hand would still rather go other places..... we'll see :)

Life as we know it

Remember how I haven't posted since...May?

Yeah, me too.

Life has been hectic and we're still trying to catch up.

Cody finished his Masters of Accounting in August and I'm getting my Bachelors of Music in Vocal Pedagogy in December! We get to walk together in the commencement. We're so happy that we are that much closer to being finished.

Cody will take the CPA exam next May and I'm thinking of getting a Masters of Education or a Masters in Speech Pathology. I haven't decided on which one yet.

Summer was busy crazy with both of us working full time and Cody finishing school so we didn't get to do much. I was in 'Annie' at the Heritage and had a blast.

In October I had my Senior Recital and it went SO WELL!! I was so stressed and nervous for it and it's amazing what faith and prayers can do. Then to celebrate we went to Disneyland the next week with some of our best friends and had SO MUCH FUN!!! I'm excited to get all my pictures and upload them tomorrow.

I've also been helping out Melanie Day at Box Elder High School with their production of Phantom of the Opera. What a project! There has been a lot of blood (literally), sweat and tears put into this production and the kids are absolutely amazing. That and school have been my life for the past month and a half. Poor Cody hasn't had a good home-cooked meal from me for a long time. I've been living at WSU from 8 to 3 everyday and then at BEHS from 3:30 to at least 10pm. We close this Saturday (maybe next monday?) and then he'll finally have a wife again. He's probably loved every second of it though. :)

So there's a little update on us and hopefully it won't be as long between posts. Cross your fingers. I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving!!

I'm a little spontaneous

When ever I get my hair cut it's always a spur of the moment decision. I've decided that before my trip to the said place below I would like to get my hair cut. I'm thinking of this style...

  Dress and all.
Kidding, kidding. Like I have a body like that.
 What do you think?

We can't wait!

      For this....

Living Life to the Fullest

The past month has been a whirlwind of school, homework and activities. I'm so busy and scatterbrained I can't even remember what I wore yesterday.

No... wait... I can because its on my bedroom floor. But which outfit was it?

Just kidding (only kinda).

So I decided to play a little catch-up today, minus pictures because what do you know, my camera is at home.

WSU had spring break 3 weeks ago? I can't even remember, but I went up to my sister's house in Idaho for half the week and had a ton of fun! Cody couldn't come because of tax season but we're hoping to make another trip together soon.

I now know what it is like to have 3 kids and not be able to fit in a shower during the day. Talk about exhausting.

As some people know, I am a night owl. I will stay up for hours on end and then sleep in the next day. After one day up there I was exhausted by 9 pm. It was a weird feeling.

Since then, Cody and I have been involved in homework and work everyday and we can not wait for school to be out next week! I had to participate in a few almost all nighters to get projects and assignments done. You would think I would learn after 4 years of college to not procrastinate? Me too.

We also went to a wedding last weekend for a good friend and we couldn't be happier for them! Weddings make for one long day but they are completely worth every minute. Plus, it's always fun to catch up with friends and make plans for the future!

So as we finish up school, we keep talking about summer and how exciting it will be. Well, mostly for me because poor Cody has to take summer classes. Then his Masters of Accounting will be finished! We can't wait!

For the summer we're taking a trip to San Francisco, painting the house, buying new drapes, gardening, camping, visiting family and hopefully taking a few cheap and fun vacations by ourselves.

Here's to an adventure filled summer!

And of course.... pictures will come (sometime).
