Calvin is 1

Hello again from MN!
First, let me say, that our trip to UT and ID was AMAZING! We love and miss so many people out there! We can't believe it has been 6 years that we have been gone! Wow!

Whitney at Silver Lake. We couldn't believe the raging torrent of a

river coming out of Big Cottonwood Canyon. Wild!

Well, Big C is the Big 1! We love our little Calvin and we are so grateful to have him in our family. I tell my mom he is like a perpetual bouquet of flowers (or something more manly) that all of us in the family just watch and enjoy and love. He lifts all of us and brings us so much joy!

Here is a picture of some garden harvest. Meager as it is, we are really loving it. It has been profound, really, how much joy and excitement comes from working as a family in a garden.

Another Semi-Annual Post....

Here is an update from everyone:

Sterling is all grown up (sniff...sniff...). He is six and the big man on kindergarten campus.
He is sporting his SPAM shirt. Austin, MN is where all the magic happens.
Image
Kerrie and Whitney are lovely princessess and we are amazed with them each day. Whitney experienced nursemaid's elbow for the first time last week. Eric was at the hospital so we used the help from our gallant friends who came and helped us in the night, and then a firm eyes-closed twist from mom in the morning and her arm was good as new. For those of you who have had kids with this you can nod your heads and grimace with me. For those of you who have not had kids with this you can yawn with boredom and move on the next picture.

Calvin has two front bottom teeth and if you get too close to him he will bite you. First he will smile at you with an irresitable sparkly eyed smile and then he will bite you. hard.

Not pictured: I am wearing a bright cheery spring shirt in hopes that this will bring on some thaw. This morning though we heard birds singing in all their glory and it was wonderful! Eric is irresistable too, like Calvin, and I am grateful for him.

Happy Fall, Everyone!

Hooray for Fall! We are loving it!

Image
News around here.

Well, I turned 30...yikes!

Eric and I celebrated our 9 year anniversary. Hooray! Man, I love that guy!

We went a real live family vacation. It was amazing fun! We headed up North to check out the "North Shore" Minnesota style, which is along Lake Superior. It is an amazing little pocket of the world. there are light houses, miles and miles of beautiful rocky shore line with pine and birch forests that stretch right to the edge of the water, and all this dotted with darling little harbor towns. Most of our activites for the week involved relaxing and skipping rocks on the water:

A Busy Summer

Hello all. We are dusting off the cobwebs from our blog and finally posting about some of the latest events.

We moved...and we are in LOVE with Minnesota. It is so fun to have a house and yard to call our own.

Eric wanted to surprise his family with some funny facial hair and so that he would feel better about driving the moving truck:Image

We were very grateful to have all that help from the Cannon family and from the Indiana Felts:

ImageSuper strong Paul and Jon. (this is one week before Jon left on his mission.)

Here are the kiddos after the 12 hour drive to Minnesota. Laurie did amazing things to entertain some sleep deprived and anxious kids, (and their anxious and sleep deprived mother.) hooray, our new house! I am sorry to say that I don't really have any pictures of our house.

Eric's hours seem wonderful to us after intern year yuckiness and we have been using his new found free time out exploring all the great things to do and places to go around us. We really are loving it here.

And, here are the kiddos awaiting the arrival of our latest addition: They are holding their bears from their great-grandparents that they got when they were born.

Calvin Kent Cannon! Born Aug. 10 at 6:08 AM, weighing 9 lb. 11 oz. and healthy, cute and wonderful. We are very grateful to have him come join our family. ImageWe have also been very grateful to have had my mom here (she is pretty much the best ever) and for all the help and love of the amazing people we are surrounded by here.
Man, life is good. We hope that this blog finds you all well and happy.

Just another post from the Cans...

I feel like I'm kind of on a roll here with all these posts for 2010...so, here's another update from the world of the Cannons.....
Gwen and I were discussing blogging troubles the other day and we both concluded that we use up all of our "computer time" for the day or for the week or whatever looking at other people's cute blogs...then TIMES UP!..no more time to update our own blog. So, props to everyone out there and their amazingly cute blogs and families. I love you all!

There is no huge news here, just a lot of happy days and normal life.
We are winding down here in Indy and musing on how fast this year has gone. On Friday we are going to officially start packing up the moving boxes and getting serious about this move to Minnesota.
Mother's day was AMAZING and I thank my sweet, I mean burly and gruff, fabulous husband for a wonderful day. He is so thoughtful and our kids are so great! I feel so lucky to be a mom! I also feel so grateful for my own amazing mom who I love.

Whitney has started to say tons of words. She is very demanding and is sort of a wild woman. She yells at me all the time. OUTSIDE!!!! SHOES!!!! CRACKERS!!! DRINK!!!! HURRY IT UP WOMAN!!!! then she looks at me with the hugest, deepest blue eyes ever and melts me into immediate, groveling submission. She is a lot of fun!
Image Kerrie continues to be our angelic little princess. She is such a calming force here among the crazies. She also has great comedic timing and a funny sense of humor that keeps us all laughing, especially Sterling. ImageSterling posed this picture all by himself, sooo, I guess enough said about this one. We love our Sterling!

Image
Eric is happy to have his amp and guitar again....he has been missing his fun toys I think. Yup, life is good. (I just wish he was home a little more often to serenade us all....we miss you babe!)

Lots of News of is Good News

We had a very eventful weekend! We went on a long and cold journey to Minnesota (mostly cold because Eric was blasting the A/C to keep himself awake while driving). After a few hours of sleep we woke up and bought a house in one day. We looked at about a dozen houses, chose our top three over lunch, took a second look, argued and debated, put in an offer, signed some papers and closed the deal...all in about 11 hrs. It was great. W won't close until we move in June, but we are hopeful that everything will be fine, (since we already signed our life away) and we are already chosing out paint colors. Yeah! We are finally grown ups!
Also, on Monday, we had an ultrasound and we found out we are having a BOY! That's right, Cannon #4!
Other "lately" events:
Sterling turned 5...holy smokes batman!Image
We also had a great visit from Kent and Laurie. We had great fun while they were here including an action packed day in Chicago; this is Kerrie and Whitney in the amazing Shedd Aquarium.

peace out.

It's been a few months...it must be time for another post

Hello from Indiana!

This is the "no news is good news" post. All is well here in Indiana and there is not much to tell.

Whitney officially has her first ringlets and we are looking forward to another Kerrie-esque head of wild hair. Sterling has decided that he loves me and that he will write me a Valentine every day. Does it get any better than sweet little boys? And Kerrie just runneth over with sunshine and joy.

I still pull up our friend Emily Jones' blog and have a good cry over the loss of her sweet husband John. It has just broken our hearts and we are still grieving for them. Though, this sadness seems inappropriate in light of Emily's powerful testimony of our loving Heavenly Father and His plan for us. She knows that her and John will be together again someday and her strength lifts everyone around her.

We got to go to Utah (hooray!) for Rupert's wedding and that was great fun! We had glorious Cannon family time, wild and crazy Felt family time (but it was great too) and we finally got to see Leslie's house and see our sweet Kat too. Congrats Ru and your cutie cute wife Jessica. We love you!Image

Until we post again in another few months we hope that all is well with all of you friends and loved ones out there!
