So, I have been devoting my time to other things besides blogging, i.e. crafting/Christmas craziness.
In the last month I made:
- 5 patchwork activity bags for my nieces and nephews
- 1 embroidered pillowcase for Aunt Catherine.
- 2 blankets for Anna @ work.
- 1 Baby quilt
- and many many messes!!!
Of all these projects I didn't take a single picture. Great job Catherine. Anna, however, sent me a photo of one of the blankets I made for her sons, see below. I will work on getting more pictures for the future. I do enjoy documenting my adventures and attempts at craftiness.

Festive Fall Splendor
Sunday was a rather random day for me. I went to church, we had the Primary Program, I taught Primary, and then came home. The great fun for the day however came much later as our artistic talents were displayed in a little family pumpkin carving.
Emma carved a Spider
Eli carved a ghost, Pac Man, Pac Man Ghost, and more Ghosts
Amy carved the traditional Jack-o-Lantern.

Fall Picnic
It is amazing how the air changes with the seasons. I do love the crisp clean feel of the fall air. However, I am trunky for Jacob Lake and my Kaibab Plateau. Maybe I could run away for a weekend and see the Grand Canyon before the snow really sets in. Leia Mais…

Sheep in the Wolf's Clothing
I know I wrote that backwards but I promise I am the innocent one. Randomly enough the BYU vs UTAH game is this weekend. I work for the one school but went to school for a bit at the other. I cannot complain but I feel like I cannot ally myself with either. Sooooo....I bleed PURPLE. Go WEBER!
Nothing too new happening around the area but I have been busy working, gardening, learning about trucks/sled pulls, rodeo watching, and doing crafts every now and again. Here is a picture of Bruce & I at a truck pull in Tremonton a while back.
Starting on my Christmas projects as we speak. I will keep more up to date as the month continues to roll along. Leia Mais…

July 4th, 2011
So, I have started to increase my activity level a little at a time. Yes it may seem kind of strange to be super excited about my little accomplishments but for the girl who is afraid of hurting herself this is a big deal.
On the morning of the 4th of July, Davey, Bruce and I set out on a hike in Fruit Heights, up Bear Canyon. The first bit of the hike is quite steep and I could feel it in my achilles tendons. After that it wasn't too bad. It was beautiful and cool by the creek/stream (which looked like a river due to the high water levels). We didn't push ourselves too hard but had a good time getting away for a bit and enjoying nature.
I am illustrating my adventure with a few pictures. Forgive the not so flattering ones, please.

Crafty Family
It has already been established that Mom is very crafty. Bruce and I have been busy working to keep up with her.
First it started with Father's Day cards. This year I now have 6 people to make cards for on this special day. As you can see I made a few extra as well. In the process I made a mess of the family room. Thank you to Bruce for putting up with this.
Next the creativity went so far as a new baby quilt. This was great fun for me to make because I was actually doing it for someone else. Lynn, a lovely woman I work for, is expecting a new grandbaby and wanted a quilt to give to her daughter in law. I was happy to assist in this venture.
Here we have the pre finished product.
Last night I look so very excited to have it finished. (yes the red eyes were left in on purpose to add emphasis to my sleepiness).
Bruce has been hard at work on his crafty side as well. He has been constructing these drawers to go under Mom's closet's upstairs. They are made of Lyptus, an expensive wood that makes lots of slivers.

Never Ending Peeling Sunburn
Two Saturday's ago I spent all day working out in the garden. Originally I was only planning on being out there for a few hours, but I didn't go inside until around 6 p.m. So, yes my skin got a little nuked. Mostly my shoulders and then on my lower back where my shirt had ridden up and my shorts had ridden down. The problem now is that my arms are peeling, and peeling, and peeling and I feel like I am the leaving a DNA trail everywhere I am going. Sure, we generally do sluff off skin, etc. through out the day, but this makes me feel like a reptile who cannot seem to loose the skin fast enough.
So, once again here is another summer with a cool farmers tan :). It may be the only sun the way things are going around here. Yesterday morning I woke up to find snow on our grass. What a pain! It is June and we still haven't hit 70 degrees for a week solid yet. I guess it is a blessing in disguise because the snow hasn't had a chance to melt too fast and come off the mountain causing "great flooding."
Our basement has already soaked up a bit of water. Yet another summer project to work on. However, we cannot start on this until it warms up a bit. So, patience and greater perserverance is necessary once again.

Procrastination Halted
Last night a huge thunderstorm came through and it was fun to sit and listen to the hail, rain, and thunder rolling off the mountain. However, it was about 2 a.m. when all of this was happening and I wasn't asleep. Major insomnia last night....not good.

Almost One Month
Despite the dreary rain we are having I am working on my postitive outlook. Yesterday we had snow here at work and I was so sad about how anti-spring it was outside.
It is amazing how large events tend to roll together and make time move faster. For example, I have been married for almost one month, Bruce has a job here in town so I will actually see him on a regular basis, Davey may have a new job closer to us here in Utah which means more time with his family and having Amy around to be my pal, and Natalie is going back to school (in a couple months).
Change is a constant in life however it is not extremely easy for me to accept at times. Every Christmas gets a little less "traditional" and I miss sleeping over at Grandma's, having all the family at home, spending time eating carmel corn, watching all of our movies that we got as presents, and coloring in our new coloring books. I appreciate the new but my goal is to blend it with the old in a better fashion. Who knows how things will end up, but it is definitely interesting to be along for the ride.

Wedding Day
To start with, I wanted to take a moment to highlight the great people who helped to make our wedding extra special and a wonderful occasion.

It is official....
I wanted to let the world know that I am officially married. It seems rather surreal at the moment but I am sure I will get used to it given some time. Bruce and I were married last Saturday in Logan and everyone was so pleasant and kind. Pictures will be coming soon.
