Here is Natalia's 1st grade picture. I thought it turned out so perfect! What a cute girl. I have this on the side of my computer monitor at work and it makes me smile.
Speaking of said cute girl....sometimes we don't wake up oh so pleasant. :)
Such a mean mom....
We were cordially invited to the funeral of dear Poppy, the Shanks' hamster. Poor, poor Poppy. There was a whole program and speech (only the best from Mason!) followed by a proper burial. Til we meet again, lil Poppy...can't say I knew you very well but it was a pleasure to walk by you on occasion.
This is only slightly disturbing and occurred at one of the family parties. Not his best look I'd say. :)
Mom's tired after a long day at work.Self pics with Mom!
This kid wears his belly proud!
Having fun at work
Here's my little miracle man. We went in for another check up on Hayden's back. He was born with infantile Scoliosis which the doctor said he should grow out of. I always love the 30+ minute wait for the 5 minute visit. :) Here we are trying to entertain ourselves:Ta da! Here's the miracle. Look at what a difference a year will make. The current one is on the left:
I don't know about you, but I've never seen cuter bones.
The appointment was at Primary Children's in Riverton and had a really pretty view of the Oquirrh Mountain temple (which uh, didn't show up in the pic below). Funny story though. On the way to the appointment, I was rushing to get there on time and got pulled over right before getting to the freeway. I think it's been like 10+ years since I got pulled over so I was so bummed (and stressed because I didn't want to be late). The officer came to the window and asked the standard "Do you know how fast you were going," "Can I see your license and registration" stuff. I told him where we were going and he walked back to his car for a minute or two. He came back, handed me my cards, and asked me if I was pulling his leg and if my son really had a doctor's appointment. Luckily for me I had the appointment card in my purse and pulled it out and showed him. He looked at it, looked back at Hayden, looked at me, handed me the card and said, "Go get your son to the doctor." Score! Thank you, Hayden! (I won't mention that a few weeks ago I was going into work late because Natalia was sick and not even five blocks away from home I got pulled over. Man, these Lindon cops need more to do! Somehow I got out of that one too though. I was shocked. 40 in a 25, I know I'm wreckless. Guess I need to be a little more careful because I'm not sure I'll be able to charm the next one). ;)
A sickie pic of Hayden. Poor miserable kiddo.
They had a safety unit in school where they learned things throughout the week about self-defense and then had a program at the school for the parents to show what they learned. Natalia is dead center in the grey shirt:
Hard to see but there she is all geared up and ready for her turn. I got it on video but she went up to the big bad police officer playing a bad guy, had to yell no, and kick him. She's about as aggressive as a butterfly. :)
Getting her award at the end from the principal, Mrs. Ross:
Mommy and kids date out to the "cupcake place!"
It's the perfect place to let that belly hangout (especially when no one else is there):
We learned a long time ago he is the family comedian. Hammy Hayden.
Come on, if you got it, flaunt it.
For a few months, the kids and I had to sit in the very back of church because Hayden just did better there. If I was lucky, he would quietly place with his cars on the floor.
Nope, never got hit by the door.
Someone lost her two front teeth! Look at that cute smile!
The Tooth Fairy got a bit chastised the next morning by Ms. Toothless. She wondered why on earth she got that green stuff under her pillow and not the shiny silver stuff. Take note, Tooth Fairy.
These are the Lego's I loved and played with as a kid! Hayden loves the train cars.
Baba addiction? What are you talking about?
I'm pretty sure I don't have a picture like this when I was his age. Kids these days...they have it all.
Enabling his addiction:
This kid loves his blankies! One is never enough. The more the merrier (and cozier).
Dan brought over some Christmas stuff he got in one of his units. Hayden loved this dancing snowman!
Antler man:
Cute cousins "playing" together:
More to come!
