Catch up with Words!!

I have about 200 pictures on my camera and I haven't posted anything since Ash and I went to the Fair in August. Yup, I am behind and can I do anything about it?? Nope!! So I am gonna update in words what has gone on with each of us then to now.
Cody:

He started to play paintball and is on a team with a bunch of guys from St. George. He has a lot of fun going to the team practices and competing. He still works as the transmission rebuilder at AAMCO Transmissions. He likes it but doesn't love it. He has also been crossfitting with me since about July. I am so proud of the commitment he has made to go and we really enjoy the time together. He doesn't see it but he is looking really good these days and it has helped his spirits too.
Tawsha:
I still work as an RN at Southern Utah Womens Health Center where I have been for 14 yrs. I recently had some "personality" struggles there (for lack of better words). I was getting in trouble for things that are not typical of me and I was getting pretty frustrated with it. I felt like someone was out to get me and really test my patience. I have now not gotten in trouble since Thanksgiving (I think, I forget now when it was) and I regained my boss' approvel as a strong part of the team.

In Jan I signed up for my first 5K race ever, it was an emotional event for me. I remember waiting at the start line with tears pouring down my face. Cody was right there and said if you don't wanna do this, you don't have to. He didn't get it, I wasn't afraid or being forced I was just so HAPPY to be standing at that start line. Thanks to crossfit, I was able to succeed at something I never thought possible. My time was 25:49 and 9th in the women's age group:) I was so proud of myself!!

I just had my one year crossfit anniversary and I am proud to say that I am a crossfitter for life. I am fit, strong, and have a clearer mind because of it. My body isn't perfect, but that isn't the reason I started in the first place. I did it for health, energy, and self esteem and I now have all 3 of those. I have less anxiety, patience, and energy to be a mom and I LOVE IT!!!
Ashlee: 6 yrs and 11 months
Image

She has lost 5 teeth since September. She has an extra baby tooth in between where her top middle teeth were and her eye teeth. She hasn't lost that one yet and really needs to. It looks ridiculous!!

She jusr finished 1st grade and her teacher calls her a "smarty pants". She is on a 4th grade reading level and a 3rd grade math level. I could always tell she was extra smart when she was a baby. She could sing Twinkle Twinkle before she was one, and new her ABC's and colors so well. She really loves to read and write and could pick up on words to songs on the radio so fast. And her logic is amazing to me. She outsmarts me a lot and catches me when my words aren't right.

She is always doing extracurriclar things. She did soccer this spring. She has fun but isn't very aggressive at it. She isn't any worse than any other girls on the team (to me she is just like all of them-except for the couple that just have the knack at it). She has been taking jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, and cheer. And loves hip hop the most.

She is getting her "kissing" tonsils out on June 27th and is actually excited for it. They almost touch and hurt her all the time. She snores and for her birthday she asked to get them out. She turns 7 on June 14th and will get them out just after that. She says she snores too much and princess' don't snore and thats why she wants them out for her birthday.

She is really the best daughter ever. She is task oriented and uses that to help me around the house ALOT!! She is good at keeping her room clean and is always asking if she can clean up. She will write a list of chores and stick to getting them done without me even telling her to. One day when I got home from work, she had cleaned her room, her brothers room, made his bed and hers and vacccuumed the living room for me without being told it needed to be done. She said, it was messy so I did it!!
Lucan: 2 years and 3 months.

He is a pretty cute shaggy haired little boy. He fell on some wooden stairs at grandmas house just before Christmas and had to get 3 stitches..he was a tough boy, but grandma was not very tough. He is a boy for sure but I wouldn't call him "all boy" like some. He isn't a huge climber, he isn't rambunctious (sp??), he doesn't break things, and he isn't messy all the time. Infact he will get upset if he has snot running out his nose or if his hands are dirty and sticky. He talks a lot (the doctor always says for a boy he says more words than normal) Maybe its cause he has a sister who won't shut up at home, lol.

He has now had ear tubes for 15 months and they are doing their job. We made it through the winter infection free. Now knowing my luck we will have to get them surgically removed or something. He has reactive airway disease though so every time he gets a cold it goes right to his chest and he has trouble breathing..Right now he has strep throat and cervical nodes so swollen he can't move his neck. He is a pretty miserable little boy and I am a pretty grumpy mommy.

Last night he was trying to sit on the couch and he said, "move over dad". We laughed. Then he gave a toy to Cody and Cody tried to give it back. Lucan said " No I don't want that back dad" His longest sentance ever.

He is clumbsy and falls down just standing in one place, its funny! He loves motorcycles, balls, and his big tub of cars. He is also a very clean boy. He puts his shoes where they go and loves to throw trash away. I have found him lining things up and picking up his toys with out being asked.

I LOVE MY KIDS!!!

rodeo

Image This year I took Ashlee to the rodeo all 3 nights. I have wanted to do that for so long but just never had the time or money. But we were given tickets to the first night, my dad bought me tickets to one night and so I bought the third night. The first night I went with Alan (my mom had to work). It was really fun. Ash sees the muttin bustin every year and says she wants to do it, then when it comes down to it she says she won't do it. (its actually something you have to enter and get drawn to do) but this year she saw the little kids dressed as clowns chasing the sheep and said she wanted to do that. she bugged me the whole first night about how those kids got to do it and could she do it please. i had no idea what to do, i figured if you had to be chosen special out of a drawing to ride then it worked the same for the clowning too. but the next morning i text my uncle who is a member of the lions club and is usually out working the rodeo. he said he needed to check with someone and then he'd get back to me. much to my surprise, he text me back and said to just dress her up and send her out and he would watch for her. i was so excited and so was ash when i told her i got her signed up. well fri night i had mandatory cpr training with work clear out in green valley and the rodeo started at 8. and i had paid for reserved tickets. cpr went over and i raced home to find ashlee asleep. luckily i had already gathered what we needed so i scooped her up and headed to the rodeo. she was still asleep when we got there and got out of the car but i made her walk and she kinda woke up. i was a little nervous we'd miss it but we got in, headed to the bathroom to get dressed up and then to our seats and i did her hair while we waited and not for long. we watched one event and then they called all the kids out. i was prepared for her to be too embarrassed and too tired to care but to my surprise she climed over the fence and went to work. it was the cutest thing ever and she did so good. thanks uncle kyle for the hook ups. she will never forget this night. she had so much fun infact that she did it again the next night. we got more creative with her outfit and even painted her face. i took lucan this night and he did pretty good. he mostly preferred to climb up and down the stairs but other than that he was a trooper.

first county fair

I took Ash to her first county fair and we had a blast!! we hit the ferris wheel first and this video pretty much explains that. After that she went on a kid ride and hated it. She took me on the gravitron twice and two other adult rides that she was tall enough to ride but were pretty scary. I got so sick and she loved every minute of it.

little mermaid

Image this is the only pic ash would take with the mermaid..she wouldn't get close to the real ones.

Image
she wanted to dress up like a princess to go see mermaid. i think she looked very pretty!!

waiting for the show to start

Image
I wanted to go to little mermaid so i took ash for my birthday..good deal right!! i had fun out on or mommy daughter date. the show was amazing..the effects were fantastic. we sat right on the front row and loved being so close. we got soaking wet and laughed and laughed when bubbles were blowing and popping in our face.

Ashlee's First Lost tooth..

Image Ash lost her first tooth on Sept 3, 2011..It had been a loose tooth for quite a while. She gaurded it very well. One day Cody and I were taking a nap while Lucan was too and she was just doing her own thing in her room. When I woke up and went to check on her she was sitting on her bed eating an apple. I asked her how she was doing and she said good but this tooth of mine is really bugging me. I want it out NOW!! I wanted to make this first experience a fun one to remember so while daddy and Lucan were still asleep we looked on youtube about kids loosing their first tooth. Thats when I decided we better get the video camera out. I just handed Ashlee some gauze and let her do her own thing. She tried all sorts of things and we got it all on video. She is hilarious. She copied all of what she saw on you tube and we were laughing so hard that this wasn't scary for her at all. I was the one to finally pull it out though. She was gettting sick of trying. All I had to do was touch it with the gauze and it fell out in my finger. She didn't feel a thing and when I showed her the tooth she was so dang happy..

Image The tooth fairy wanted to make this first tooth a special treasure too so she brought lots of goodies but nothing too big and fancy at the same time. Fairy dust sprinkled her bed. She got gum, a tooth brush, toothpaste and $1 in change. She was very satisfied!!!

First Day of School

Image Just like Kindergarten away she goes and doesn't even look back.

Image
Here comes the bus..she loves going to the park cause she can play with her friends on the swings while they wait for the bus. I think she feels torn though cause she has another friend and close cousin that use the other stop. At the first of the year she was mixing up which one she used and it got confusing for her and us and caused some scares so we made her pick one and stay with it.

Image Such a pretty girl, she always takes a perfect picture (in my eyes anyway). Something about this picture though makes her seem way more grown up than usual..

Image

Had to get our yearly pic by the Raptor rock..it will be fun to watch her grow by this rock each year. Last year she was only up to the A, she grew alot!!!

Image Here is her at her desk..she is so excited to have a big girl desk instead of just a table to share. This desk has a cubby just like the ones I remember in school.

Image
Meet the teacher day..we got our first pick for her teacher. Mrs Webster!!! We heard nothing but good about her and was actually surprised we got her since she is the highest demand..and funny thing, she is a huge Paula's fan so she knows grandma Cheryl already. It is gonna be a great year!!!
