I have about 200 pictures on my camera and I haven't posted anything since Ash and I went to the Fair in August. Yup, I am behind and can I do anything about it?? Nope!! So I am gonna update in words what has gone on with each of us then to now.
Cody:
He started to play paintball and is on a team with a bunch of guys from St. George. He has a lot of fun going to the team practices and competing. He still works as the transmission rebuilder at AAMCO Transmissions. He likes it but doesn't love it. He has also been crossfitting with me since about July. I am so proud of the commitment he has made to go and we really enjoy the time together. He doesn't see it but he is looking really good these days and it has helped his spirits too.
Tawsha:
I still work as an RN at Southern Utah Womens Health Center where I have been for 14 yrs. I recently had some "personality" struggles there (for lack of better words). I was getting in trouble for things that are not typical of me and I was getting pretty frustrated with it. I felt like someone was out to get me and really test my patience. I have now not gotten in trouble since Thanksgiving (I think, I forget now when it was) and I regained my boss' approvel as a strong part of the team.
In Jan I signed up for my first 5K race ever, it was an emotional event for me. I remember waiting at the start line with tears pouring down my face. Cody was right there and said if you don't wanna do this, you don't have to. He didn't get it, I wasn't afraid or being forced I was just so HAPPY to be standing at that start line. Thanks to crossfit, I was able to succeed at something I never thought possible. My time was 25:49 and 9th in the women's age group:) I was so proud of myself!!
I just had my one year crossfit anniversary and I am proud to say that I am a crossfitter for life. I am fit, strong, and have a clearer mind because of it. My body isn't perfect, but that isn't the reason I started in the first place. I did it for health, energy, and self esteem and I now have all 3 of those. I have less anxiety, patience, and energy to be a mom and I LOVE IT!!!
Ashlee: 6 yrs and 11 months
She has lost 5 teeth since September. She has an extra baby tooth in between where her top middle teeth were and her eye teeth. She hasn't lost that one yet and really needs to. It looks ridiculous!!
She jusr finished 1st grade and her teacher calls her a "smarty pants". She is on a 4th grade reading level and a 3rd grade math level. I could always tell she was extra smart when she was a baby. She could sing Twinkle Twinkle before she was one, and new her ABC's and colors so well. She really loves to read and write and could pick up on words to songs on the radio so fast. And her logic is amazing to me. She outsmarts me a lot and catches me when my words aren't right.
She is always doing extracurriclar things. She did soccer this spring. She has fun but isn't very aggressive at it. She isn't any worse than any other girls on the team (to me she is just like all of them-except for the couple that just have the knack at it). She has been taking jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, and cheer. And loves hip hop the most.
She is getting her "kissing" tonsils out on June 27th and is actually excited for it. They almost touch and hurt her all the time. She snores and for her birthday she asked to get them out. She turns 7 on June 14th and will get them out just after that. She says she snores too much and princess' don't snore and thats why she wants them out for her birthday.
She is really the best daughter ever. She is task oriented and uses that to help me around the house ALOT!! She is good at keeping her room clean and is always asking if she can clean up. She will write a list of chores and stick to getting them done without me even telling her to. One day when I got home from work, she had cleaned her room, her brothers room, made his bed and hers and vacccuumed the living room for me without being told it needed to be done. She said, it was messy so I did it!!
Lucan: 2 years and 3 months.
He is a pretty cute shaggy haired little boy. He fell on some wooden stairs at grandmas house just before Christmas and had to get 3 stitches..he was a tough boy, but grandma was not very tough. He is a boy for sure but I wouldn't call him "all boy" like some. He isn't a huge climber, he isn't rambunctious (sp??), he doesn't break things, and he isn't messy all the time. Infact he will get upset if he has snot running out his nose or if his hands are dirty and sticky. He talks a lot (the doctor always says for a boy he says more words than normal) Maybe its cause he has a sister who won't shut up at home, lol.
He has now had ear tubes for 15 months and they are doing their job. We made it through the winter infection free. Now knowing my luck we will have to get them surgically removed or something. He has reactive airway disease though so every time he gets a cold it goes right to his chest and he has trouble breathing..Right now he has strep throat and cervical nodes so swollen he can't move his neck. He is a pretty miserable little boy and I am a pretty grumpy mommy.
Last night he was trying to sit on the couch and he said, "move over dad". We laughed. Then he gave a toy to Cody and Cody tried to give it back. Lucan said " No I don't want that back dad" His longest sentance ever.
He is clumbsy and falls down just standing in one place, its funny! He loves motorcycles, balls, and his big tub of cars. He is also a very clean boy. He puts his shoes where they go and loves to throw trash away. I have found him lining things up and picking up his toys with out being asked.
I LOVE MY KIDS!!!
