CRAWLING!!!!...............Sort Of

Image
Image
Image

As many of you know Madalynn has been very content to sit where she is put and spin around on her bum to she what is going on around her. She finally has started a sort of crawl, I hope you can tell from the pictures the funny position she is in. She always has to have the right leg curled in front of her and the left leg in the normal crawling position it is hilarious to watch her do. James was very happy he was here when she did it for the 1st time!

Saturday afternoon after her baptism Olivia had a birthday party and invited some friends from church. We went to a place called Jump On It a very fun place with a ton of trampolines and some of them were even at an angle up the wall. We then went back to the church and had cake and ice cream and opened presents. She was very excited about all her gifts but most of all she loved her I-Dog, if you hear music moving around the house you know she is walking around listening to it. I have never been so tired after that saturday, but it was a lot of fun.

Saturday was such a wonderful day! Olivia got baptized on Saturday morning by her dad and her friend, Katie also got baptized with her. It was a very special day to see her go into the water and come up clean and the newest member of the church for a moment. It was a very proud moment for James and I. She looked very pretty in her white dress that Grandmother Chadwick made for James' sister to be baptized in. She was so excited for Saturday to come.

Halloween!!!

We have had a very busy weekend, it all started with Halloween. Olivia had a parade at her school and James flew in super early to be there for it. We then went to Del Sol for a halloween lunch party, the kids had so much fun. At the party I got the only picture of Madalynn in her costume (that I took, someone at Heather's work got one of us with all the kids from Del Sol) it is a very funny picture of her! Then we came home and relaxed for awhile then went trick-or-treating at the rehab center where Dad is, the kids love seeing grandpa. We then went to the mall and saw Ashley and trick-or-treated a little bit there. Then got home and trick-or-treated some more in our neighborhood. Olivia didn't want to stop, but Will started dragging at the end. Will wanted to be called Will-Dash all night and we had a lot of people tell us Olivia was the perfect Violet, Aunt Heather REALLY wanted her to be Violet and we are glad she did choose it. They all looked so cute and had tons of fun!!!

We went up to North Ogden this past weekend to visit Grandpa & Grandma Chadwick, they had pumpkins to carve with the kids. Olivia and Will were so excited to do this, we got them done and brought them back to Grandpa & Grandma Hanson's house the kids love having them here to look at. We had a great day up in Ogden and the kids had special time with the Chadwicks.

Skeleton's Bedtime!

This made James and I laugh so hard, when we went to tuck the kids into bed we saw this on a chair in the kids room. They were very serious when they said " They need a place to sleep to." It was so funny and cute to see!

Skating Party!!

Image
Image
Image

Last Thursday we went to Olivia's friend Kooper's birthday party he had it at the skating rink. Olivia was so excited to go skating, but she has only been once before so I was a little nervous. I was going to rent skates and go out with them but ended up falling earlier that day and twisted my ankle so I couldn't skate. We got there and Olivia got regular skates and it really freaked her out she had no control and was slipping everywhere. So we checked and they had the learning skates you put over your shoes in her size but she was still nervous. Neither of the kids wanted to go out without me so I rented skates and went out Olivia immediatly was doing great and going on her own. Will and I went from one poll to the next and he said I'm done I don't want to skate anymore, I was relieved because my ankle was really hurting and I felt like I had never skated before it was a weird feeling. Anyway the party was fun and the kids loved getting a goody bag at the end.

Alpine Loop

Today Will, Madalynn, and I went for a drive up the Alpine Loop while Olivia was in school. It was very pretty and there were lots of others doing the same, looking at the pretty scenery and taking pictures. We got to see a little bit of snow on the ground but mainly it was on the mountains. I love the fall colors up against a snow capped mountain I like that there are such differences in them but they are beautiful together. Will thought it was cool to be going higher and higher and wanted to get out and walk on the mountain, I told him that daddy would take him when he came this weekend. It was not possible today because I had Madalynn, so he is excited to ask daddy to take him!

Happy Birthday Madalynn!!

Image

WOW! I can't believe she is already 1 year old! She is getting very big, she still doesn't crawl but is very mobile, she scoots on her bum. Or she is very fast at turning in a complete circle on her bum when trying to see what is going on around her. She loves scrunching up her nose and sniffing (not sure if that is the right word, oh well) she especially loves doing it to Aunt Heather. We just took her to the doctor and she is 18 pounds 5 ounces and is 28 3/4 inches. She is mostly happy, she has been grumpier lately because teeth are coming in and she gets very unhappy when she is left alone. Otherwise she is doing great and the kids love to play with her and be near her. Here are pictures of her 2 birthdays one at each grandparents house! The funny thing about the cake is that this is all that was taken out of the cake and I helped her get this much out. She only poked at the cake and she never put any in her mouth I gave her a few tastes but she wasn't interested to do it herself.

Utah in the Fall

Mom, Heather, Olivia, Will, Madalynn and I went up into American Fork Canyon on Saturday to see all the pretty fall colors. It was very fun we caught it in between rain storms, by the time we were getting done it started to rain again and it rained for awhile after that. There were a few picnicers that had to run to their cars I am sure! We went exploring on some dirt roads and almost felt like we were 4 wheeling it was so bumpy, but very fun! The kids loved getting out of the car and walking around, Will kept saying "I want to walk on the paths". We are going to take James up there when he comes home this weekend and let the climb and hike a little. A very fun and beautiful day!

The kids loved going to the school carnival, they had games, food, horses to ride, and a tractor pulling a wagon with hay on it so you could have a ride. It was a very fun evening and Grandma & Grandpa came with us to help have fun, the kids loved the little prizes they bought with tickets and really loved the cotton candy and sno cones. We were sad James couldn't be there but he will catch it next year. Here are some pictures of our fun night!

Faces Painted!!!!

This Saturday I wasn't feeling the greatest so James took all 3 kids to the opening of a party store here in Lehi. Olivia told Grandma that they had to go quickly because the party was done at 6pm( it was 5pm at the time). They were very excited to go, but they were even more excited when they got home they came down stairs to show me their faces! It was such a good job and they loved it. They were very sad to take a bath that night, but what fun the "party" was for them!

In Style

Image

Olivia came home from school yesterday and told me she saw other girls wearing outfits like hers. She was happy when she told me, so I guess we are in style with this outfit at least. She loves school and is excited to go every morning.

All Dressed Up!

Image
Image

Since being in Utah I have noticed a lot of little girls have head bands with flowers on them, I have seen newborn babies with flowers bigger than their heads on and thought poor kid is probably top heavy. But then I saw others with smaller flowers and thought what a cute headband so I decided to try to make one. So yesterday while watching TV I started compiling all I needed and found that I had everything I needed in my scrapbooking supplies. So a little while later (took me longer because I couldn't find my glue gun and I don't have a sewing machine) the head band Madalynn is wearing is what I made and I was very happy with how it turned out.

A Day At Del Sol

Image
Image
Image

On Friday we went up to Heather's work for a activity, they were wanting kids to try on some clothes and we as experts (parents) tell them things they could do on style, fit, and such to make it better. Olivia was in school so couldn't come but we took Will and Madalynn and had a great time. They were giving the girls color changing nail polish and the boys color changing frisbees. Will was so excited so we got nail polish for Olivia so she wouldn't be upset she missed out. Then they had pizza for everyone it was very fun to go have lunch with Aunt Heather, and after lunch Will wanted daddy to play ping pong with him I tried to get pictures of them playing but Will kept moving very fast after the ball when he missed it! I think I got one with the ball somewhere in the picture I can't see it, oh well, and the other is of him getting ready for daddy to hit the ball to him. Madalynn is at a funny point she doesn't really want to move but then she does want to move, she is not crawling yet. But she can move around on her bum very well she turns in a complete circle while trying to look at people and on wood floors and tables she slides around. So at the Del Sol party we had her on a table and she was moving around like crazy trying to see everyone, there was one employee there that she was fascinated with turning all around trying to see her it was very cute! I tried to get a picture but it blurred some but you can see how she moves herself around.
