Toronto based Punk Band. 1995-1999. 2024 – Present.



Formed in 1995 in Mississauga, Ontario by high school friends Waleed D (drums) and Marc N (guitar/vocals) while attending high school, Channeldrive was later joined by Gary C (bass/vocals) and Vegar (lead guitar). This original lineup wrote songs such as Joygasm, How Much, April Fresh, Ender, and an early version of Everything I Am. In late 1995, the band transitioned to a three-piece with Waleed on drums and vocals, Marc on guitar and vocals, and Mark A on bass and vocals, writing Everythjng I am, I just want to go home, So Good, among others and updated versions of past songs, before disbanding in 1999.
Channeldrive’s influences included Face to Face, Pennywise, Lagwagon, No Use for a Name, Blink-182, Green Day, Goldfinger, NOFX, Foo Fighters, Treble Charger, The Cars, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Weezer, Smashing Pumpkins, and Counting Crows.
They played numerous local shows in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Toronto, performing at notable venues like the Opera House, 360, and El Mocambo. Channeldrive shared the stage with bands such as Sum 41, Serial Joe, Pezz (Billy Talent), Racer, Special Ed, New Day Rising, and Grade, among many others.
