Book Club Meeting #5

Last night we had our 5th book club meeting at Shelby's house, and we had tons of fun! We didn't talk much about the book, but we still had a way good time hanging out with each other. Shelby's husband made us awesome chicken chili, and we just ate and had a good time. Thanks for hosting book club this month Shelby! Who wants to do it next?

We waited too long to take the pictures, so only Liz, Shelby, and I were there to get a picture taken. Steph, Becca, and Blair were there too though! We missed ya Keelee, McKayle, and Tiff! Hope you guys can make it next time!

Skipping Christmas

Our next book club selection is "Skipping Christmas" by John Grisham. Our next meeting is December 15th at Shelby's house!

Book Club Meeting #4

We had a fun book club meeting! This time we did it at my (Brooke's) house, and had some soup and salad, and chatted about the book. We want to welcome Tiffany to our book club!!! Missed ya Steph! Anyone else who's interested in being part of our group, just let us know!

The Thirteenth Tale

Our next book is "The Thirteenth Tale" by Diane Setterfield! I've heard awesome things about this book, so hopefully it will be awesome!

Our next meeting will be November 24, 2008 @ 7:00. We are going to be doing it at my house this time! We decided it would be more fun to switch houses, so that is the plan now! See ya in a month!

Book Club Meeting #3

We had our third book club meeting last night, and it was super fun! Again, no one read the book. Me and Shelby were the only ones. I feel like a lot of the people in our group are going to be put on probation! Ha ha. It was super fun to get together and see everyone, and we were able to use our gift certficiates that we got from our bad experience last time at Johnny Carino's, so dinner was free, and actually the service was a lot better. I just feel like I hate their food is all. Except for those nachos. Anyway, fun night girls! Thanks!

Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons

Our next book club selection is "Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons" by Lordna Landvik. Hopefully this book will be funny and make for some good conversations at our next book club meeting!!!

Book Club Meeting #2

Well, Chapter Chicks, congratulations on an extremely unsuccessful book club meeting last night. I would like to take this opportunity to share my deep disappointment in all of you (except Stephanie) who didn't actually READ the book club selection.

I would also like to share my regrets in the restaurant we chose to hold our meeting. Johnny Carino's was a huge disappointment, and needless to say, we will no longer be holding our meetings at their establishment.

On a brighter note, it is always good to see all of you girls and to catch up with you! I'm so glad that we are doing this so that we have the chance to see each other more often. I'm really thinking if you didn't read "the Secret Life of Bees" this month, you should read it for next. I think we could have some great discussions about it, and it's actually a REALLY good book! Hello! I had discussion questions printed out and EVERYTHING!

The Secret Life of Bees

Our next book club selection is "The Secret Life of Bees" by Sue Monk Kidd. Let's hope it's a good one! It's pretty short. I went to Barnes & Noble to get it, and it's like small and $16. So maybe buy it used off of Amazon, or get it at the library or something. It's supposedly an awesome book club book. So we shall see.

Our next meeting will be September 22. Keep an eye out for our next book!
