Snipits of life

Life here in Savannah, GA has been full of fun and adventure. We have been here a little over a year now and we are getting use to living the rural life. It takes a good 20-30 mins to get to stores.  We love our home and the kids school. It is so fun living close to the coast, just not during hurricane season. I really despise hurricane season. Nothing in life is ever perfect, but we are happy and thriving in our new home.

It has been a busy year for the Chesley family. We moved from Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Savannah, Georgia. We bought our first home and we are enjoying the coastal living.

24 August 2016

a special day for the birthday babe

This past year with three children has really flown by. This year was a special one. It was the first year in a while it would be just us at home, no extra kids and no set schedule. The final year before school started and we would no longer be free. My goal was to spend this year together and enjoy our precious time. While some days were obviously challenging, the kids are very bonded and great friends. Mission accomplished!

This year has been a challenging one. Starting from Vera's birth, we have been thrown some curve balls. With each challenge, we have felt God's hand in our lives in a much deeper way than ever before. It has been a humbling year where I have felt the growing pains that comes with age and life.

With each child I feel a different but special bond and with Vera that bond started before she was ever born. This girl is truly a light and sense of peace and joy to everyone in our family. She is the baby to everyone, not just Mom and Dad. Our girls have a sister bond that was strong from day one. I was pleasantly surprised that Dieter started and has stayed so kind and tender with her. He loves his "sissy Lala" and is very protective of her.

There are so many pictures of Vera Claire that are my favorites, but I'll share just a few. She is an angle baby and I am humbled she is mine.  Happy Birthday Lala!!!!!

Birthday Pictures

It seems that Instagram has taken place of my blog. Oh how I love the little snipetts of life I can capture and presever on there.

The new year begins with birthday mania for our oldest. How is she five already? She is growing up so fast and has found and asserting her independence. We kept things low key this year and the next weekend we went to Texas to spending time with cousins and Papa and Connie.

Next we celebrated our favorite boy turning three! Daddy built him bunk beds, we went to NASA the month before in Houston and then for his actual Birthday we went to Florida to the beach. We always seem to go big for the third birthday. It is the first time they really get it and I love letting them plan and feel special. Three is one of my favorite ages.
