End of Year Update

It has been a great and eventful year and we have much to be thankful for. Chris is done with the semester (yay!) and really excited to have a few weeks off. He has been working real hard in the lab and with his classes. Getting a PhD is a long road but will be worth-it in the end.

I'm still teaching piano lessons and loving it! I have 5 little students ranging from ages 3 to 10. It has been so much fun--thanks again to my grandparents for the beautiful piano they bought me this summer! I applied to UC Davis to finish my BS for next fall...I hope I get in! For those bugging me about pics of the apartment, I'm still not quite done with the decorating. It's so much fun and BAiley's room is about done and same with the living/dining room. I'll post pics when it's all finished--it has been so much fun but taking awhile cause of our tight student budget. We have to do it slowly and little at a time!

Bailey is doing well and loving to "cruise" around the house pushing her little car and trying to walk. She uses every piece of furniture possible to get herself around on her own two feet. I have a feeling she'll be walking really soon. She LOVES to eat and is NOT a picky eater...she'll eat anything we give her--she only nurses before her two naps and bedtime now. She has just started to "dance" and it's really cute! Go to the end of the second video and she really gets goin!

(Go to the end of this one and she really gets goin!)

Sad news--Max (our 1993 Nissan Maxima) has died and we will miss him very much. But we bought a car a few weeks ago and it has been so nice to actually have heat that works and a stereo and all the luxuries of a newer car! It's a 2005 Honda Accord--but we love you MAX, you have served us well :)

We took family pictures during Thanksgiving (finally!) sorry we couldn't post them...the slide show thing wouldn't let them fit right and they look blurry on it:) If you'd like to see them just go to www.handsomeprints.net and click on "gallery" and then "the cunninghams" :)

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!!! Love, The Cunninghams

Thanksgiving in Oregon

We got to go home to Medford for Thanksgiving for the first time since we've been married! (It was always too long drive from rexburg--especially in the snowy weather). So it was nice to have a big thanksgiving feast with all the family there.

We also got to go to the Festival of Lights in Ashland. There was a big parade and then they lit up the whole downtown with Christmas lights and had santa there and we bought candied apples and hot chocolate. Here is Bailey and Grandpa Cunningham all bundled up together:)

Weekend With Nanna

Chris went to D.C. for five days this past weekend to a neuroscience conference. He got to present a poster of his professor's research that he had helped on (he got to be a co-author! go chris!) But this left Bailey and I alone for 5 long days! But nanna and uncle Isaac came down to keep us company for a few of the days:) We had lots of fun hanging out and going to the Sacramento Zoo. Many thanks to them for making the trip here to keep Bailey and I company!

A Trip Down Memory Lane...

It's the time of year to reflect on the past year and it got me thinking about how fast time goes. It has been an eventful year having a baby and it has changed our lives forever! I am so grateful for family and all our blessings. So I made a slideshow reminiscing about life. It starts with a younger Chris and I and goes through some eventful times of our lives and finally our little girl and her past 8 months of life. (put your mouse on the picture to get a caption)

TAGGED!

I got tagged by Katy! And dangit it was so hard to come up with 7 random things about me because i'm always just focused on Bailey. But after pondering for a bit I realized how random and weird I actually am...especially after having a baby. So here they are...ENJOY!

1. I wouldn't call myself a crude person, but sometimes I LOVE to say things like, "I got up at the butt crack of dawn this morning" or "crap, where did bailey put my keys?" or even "her hott body really pisses me off"

2. I am a freak about random things..like when I am at home feeding bailey a meal, I have to match the spoon with the bowl and cup. (i know this is totally unnecessary, but i do anyways) like--her pastel green spoon can't go with the bright orange bowl. haha oh man..get a life dev...

3. i hate spiders..always have and always will

4. i am not an extreme shopper anymore (cause since marriage and a baby there has been no money to be a shopper) but i'm absolutely obsessed with GAP and OLD NAVY (baby clothes) clearance. They have the best clearance--especially if you wait long enough for the things you want. Ask Jo Lynn..I think I get something there like every week for Bailey and yet it's so cheap that how could I not?

5. (you'll love this one, amber) I've never told anyone this excpet amber, but i have secretly always wanted to go clubbing. I know that it's wrong or whatever and not something a sweet mormon mom should want to aspire to do but..i do! I got married at 18 and never got the chance! So chris promised me that someday we'll go together and get down and dirty. :)

6. I still wear clothes from highschool. (or at least the few that still fit!) i don;t shop for myself that much anymore. I get some new things here and there..good deals, christmas, birthday, etc. but i was going through my clothes one day and chris was like "wasn't that from when we first dated?" yeah...we "first dated" like over 5 yeas ago...haha time to throw THAT away..embarressing...

7. I always try to sound smart and use like big vocab words (especially talking to chris) and always end up using them wrong and sounding like an idiot instead.

ok that's it! Now I have to tag 7 more people and I choose" AMBER, JO LYNN, LANI, DANIELLE, KATY, STACY, and JESS

Bailey's 1st Halloween Costume:)

I couldn't resist posting these right after the stake Halloween Carnival:) Bailey was a penguin this year and although the mask pretty much covers her face, she still looks pretty darn cute and plump. I love the little wings on the arms and the little feet. It was a fun night, although hot and tiring for Bailey--I think we went with the intention that it's all for her. Yeah right...it was all for the us parents seeing our kid in a costume and taking pictures. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

We were invited out to Jo Lynn and Casey's parent's cabin a couple weeks ago and had so much fun hanging out and riding on the boat! Chris did awesome and picked up wakeboarding within a few trys (he tends to do taht with things...those dang naturals). I did not even try it--the water and weather was pretty cold and they had to wear wet suits.

Little Crawler

Yay! Bailey is finally crawling and mom couldn't be happier. She was at the stage where she wanted to crawl sooo bad and would get all frustrated and so who did she take it out on? yep. mom. So I got to hold her 24/7 or help her along and now she can finally be a little more independent now that there is a whole new world out there to explore. Go little Bailers! :)

Family Trip To Apple Hill

We had so much fun visitng Apple Hill as a family and taking Bailey to see the animals, pumpkin patches, and orchards. It's so beautiful and there are so many booths, candy shops, activities, and of course apples! The homemade apple donuts and apple juice are sooo good! It was such a fun day and we hope to go back again this fall!

Pictures Coming Soon!

So I know we haven't posted any recent pictures, but our computer is acting up and they won't download:( But I promise I'll post some as soon as we figure this whole thing out! Bailey is growing up so fast and trying so hard to crawl and ends up getting frustrated and mad that she can't! We've been keeping busy with her and Chris has started classes and is really enjoying being in school again. I'm enjoying teaching piano lessons and may be getting a few more students! We still love it here in Davis and the weather is still HOT or pleasant--we're really looking forward to the mild winters here coming from Rexburg! Have a great day and hopefully we'll be posting some pictures soon! --Love The Cunninghams

Bailey "Head Tilt" Update

So we have been running around to different doctors and specialists--trying to find out why Bailey has a head tilt (she has had it since birth but just really noticed it a couple months ago). So far we have ruled out vision problem and a mental/developmental problem, but we have yet to discover the reason. She starts physical therapy this month and who knows how long she will have to go and if it will help. The doc says that she is growing and developing great (50th percentile for both height and weight) and is doing all the things she's supposed to at her age and more. So that puts our mind a little more at ease that it's not a neurological/spinal thing. We'll keep ya updated! Love --The Cunninghams

California

So we have moved to Cali and absolutely love the town of Davis. Chris is working in a research lab in Sacramento (15 minute commute) until classes start up end of September. He rides his bike to the shuttle and it takes him to Sacramento and back--he's getting in great shape! Little BAiley is not so little anymore. Her and I hang out everyday swimming in the apartment complex pool, going on walks, or downtown, and lots of shopping! There are so many things to do here with Sacramento right close. WE went to the coast last weekend and had a blast and we're hoping to go to San Francisco here next month. Everything is within an hour and a half--the coast, Lake Tahoe, San Fran--it's a great location. We love our ward and the apartment and especially the town. There are lots of trees and bike paths, parks, and farmer's markets, etc. I have started my application to attend Davis for next fall and finish a BS in music. Thanks to my wonderful grandparents, I have a beautiful ebony piano and I just started teaching lessons to some kids in the ward. It has been so fun and it brings in a little extra cash as well. WEll that's all for now--we'll keep ya updated! Have a great day! :) --The Cunninghams
