Christmas Day

Christmas morning finally came! (Prepare for picture overload)  The kids were super patient as we got everything settled downstairs. They came down youngest to oldest (Aunt Becca helped the babies). The big kids were dying going behind Finley. It's a long way down and she was pretty slow... (Somehow I only got a picture of the side of the tree where our stockings were before the unwrapping began. Documenting all the action gets trickier every year with more kids and less adult hands.) Fin was in a bit of a daze after a forced wake-up from her Christmas coma. But she started diving into the candy without restraint. Toothbrushes are always a hit! Then we started in on the gifts. We rotate opening one at a time...taking turns and sharing in the joy of others gifts. I love this!! Plus, it extends out the unwrapping time. Christmas Eve

Before revealing all the fun we did Christmas Eve, here are the kiddos on Christmas Eve Eve (Sunday), looking cute and pretty. This is Paige's favorite pose as of late: flashing the peace sign.  I loved seeing Paige and Ty buddy up over the holiday. It's not often they have extended time alone without other cousins around. Paige was even a tad nervous as to whether Ty would play with her. But he did and they had a blast. She kept telling me how much fun she was having with her "buddy, Ty!"  They look so sweet and innocent...but don't let their looks fool you. Okay, now back to real Christmas Eve. We headed out for breakfast to a local dive restaurant called Twede's. If you ever watched Twin Peaks, this restaurant was the inspiration for that famous cherry pie.
