Features
- Optimise images as soon as you copy them — As long as the Clop app is running, every time you copy an image to your clipboard, Clop will optimise it to the smallest possible size. The optimised image will have minimal to zero loss in quality, and will be ready to paste in any app.
- Screen recordings as small as screenshots — Sending screen recordings becomes 10x faster with Clop. The app will optimise the video as soon as you stop recording. The video will be available as a floating thumbnail, ready for you to drag and drop in any app. Clop can use Apple Silicon's dedicated Media Engine chip for battery-efficient video encoding without using the CPU.
- Downscale in a pinch — Get images and videos ready for sharing by scaling them down to any resolution. Use handy hotkeys or the floating buttons to downscale the image or video and get an even smaller file size.
- Power user features — (A) On-demand optimisation; (B) Compatible formats (converting less compatible formats like HEIC, tiff, mov to formats understood by most devices); (C) macOS Shortcuts integration.

Fixes
- --copy always copies a file path, even when optimisation or conversion fails (it copies the original), so you get back as many files as you put in
- Optimised file location is respected when re-optimising from the floating result
- The close (x) button reliably dismisses a floating result
- Audio bitrate is never raised above the file's original, even when the configured bitrate is higher
- Aggressive optimisation on audio steps the bitrate down a level instead of doing nothing
- Files worked on with an Option-drag copy keep their real name instead of a temporary clop-dropzone-… name
- The Cmd-minus on hover hotkey now lowers PDF resolution and audio bitrate, instead of only flashing the value
- Restoring the original clears the stale size, bitrate and resolution comparison
- The downscale button no longer looks disabled for WebP, HEIC, AVIF and TIFF images
- PDF results no longer show a second, greyed-out compression button next to the working one
- The "drag all" handle works again instead of grabbing the result above it, and shows a stack of file thumbnails
- Dragging a single result shows its thumbnail instead of a plain dark rectangle
- The filename on an audio result is centred at its natural width instead of stretching across the card
Improvements
- The filename on a card grows to full width and shrinks to fit while you hover it, so long names stay readable
- Audio results show the cover art resolution under the bitrate
- Launching Clop while it's already running opens Settings
- The drop zone preview in Settings scrolls, and includes audio preset zones
- Menubar menu hides keyboard shortcut hints for actions whose hotkeys are turned off
- The compact result list stays smooth with many results and shows the space saved as a percentage, matching the batch window
- Selecting files in the compact list keeps your single-file actions and never reshuffles the list out from under you

I downloaded Clop after rave reviews, bought the pro version, loaded it onto my macbook pro m4, and the problem started there. While i could drag and drop videos to a dropzone to be optimised, i could access no other functionality to customise the use. I contacted the developer who gave me a few things to try, which did not work. He refused to help me trouble shoot any further. Had he ****isted me, i would have bought 15 to 30 more apps for my staff in my media company to use, but that wont be happening.

The best optimizer on Mac for even all my files, works great for all kind of files and the shortcuts automation and the integration with other well know apps make it unique. Really saved me a ton on time making my uploads lighter and fast to send, totally recommend it to all make user, a must have Mac hack.

There are a lot of image optimizers and compressors out there, but until now, in my experience, the venerable ImageOptim had no real contenders. Having used Clop for just half an hour, I discovered that this is the first app that matched and surpassed my old-time favorite tool and allowed me to work faster and easier. The developers of Clop have been very friendly in responding to my support and feature request queries. All in all, definitely try this one, and you may find it to be your new image compressing tool, just like I did.
