Thursday:
Jassy arrived!! YAY!! The first thing she asked her uncle to eat was TARO PIE from McDonald's. Oh boy....is she gonna have some culture shock.
Friday:
Took Jassy to Merit Academy. She got to meet her counselor, get her class schedule, get her locker, meet some teachers, meet lots of very friendly girls, tour the school, and watch the volleyball team tryouts.
Jasmen is very impressed with how friendly the students are. Before we even got in the school doors people were introducing themselves. She was thrilled at the sight and thought of having her very own locker. (Wow! I've never seen school lockers before.) She really wants to try out for the volleyball team and the girls encouraged her to do so. (Uncle Ron will be proud.)
Took Jassy shopping for her school clothes. She's still getting used to the idea of a school dress code. Business dress. She keeps asking if she can wear her Campbell High shirt to school.
TEIA GOT HER EARS PIERCED. She's SO HAPPY!! She had an audience of shoppers watching the whole process. No tears!! She could wave to them all when it was done.
We got to see lots of special friends at the mall. It was SO NICE to bump into Kainoa & Mosese and the Kelly grandchildren, Shauna & Vao, Jake &Lisa, and Lani Christensen's mom and sister. It was like being home.
Saturday:
Dropped the kids off at the Espinoza's. What would we do without those guys in our lives??
Jassy got to go to a Young Women's Activity.
Craig and I went to the Oqurrih Montain Temple for the first time to witness the AKIONA ohana's sealing. Very special. Extra special, we got to be with family too. Tracy Akiona's
sister is married to Craig's 1st cousin. Josh, DeAnn, and the kids flew in from Hawaii and we got to spend time together in the temple.
Craig and I then zoomed off to the Timpanogos Temple to witness the SETTLE/MCDONALD ohana's sealing. When those four boys came into the sealing room....WOW. The presence of the Holy Spirit was so overwhelming. Craig and I have been teaching the Temple preparation classes to Chad and Cilla, and we'll be forever grateful for our experiences together. They are a very special family, full of LOVE and SERVICE.
Picked up the kids and headed to Chad and Cilla's for a special celebration. The Maori culture is beautiful. Lots of testimony was shared, beautiful songs of New Zealand and Hawai'i sung, tears of joy, lots of special company...family and friends full of love to share, lots of ono food, and most of all a HOME filled with the SPIRIT.
Sunday:
Beautiful Sabbath Day.
We were blessed to hear the testimonies of Chad and Cilla.
Special talks given on Ward Families, Unity, Fellowship, and Love.
Jassy met her new Bishopric and Young Women's friends.
Getting Jassy prepared for her 1st day of school in Utah.
Watching Kimani and Teia love every minute they spend with their cousin. It' so special to see how close they are to their cousin even with the age differences and not growing up together.
