I have done a number of these marsh scenes, and started many more, as demos in my watercolor classes, especially with student who are not yet very experienced with watercolor. It does take a bit of practice to get the hand of the varigated wash in the background, and then to know just when the paper is still just the right amount of wet to add the soft greys so they are the right amount of softness and don’t spread out too far.

Okay, my goal was to finish up a lot of paintings that have been started (mostly as demos in classes) but never finished. I have finished up two more and there are a few more that have progressed…….. I didn’t get a chance to post yesterday, so today here is #8 and in a few minutes, #9.
