Site Rules

By using Comic Studio, you agree to follow these rules at all times when using the site, as well as the official Discord server (collectively referred to as "the service"). Violation of these terms may result in your ability to use the service getting restricted.

Legal

  • 1. Do not use our services in any way that violates United States law.
    • 1a. Comic Studio is based in the USA; as such, anything done here is subject to the laws of the country.
    • 1b. If you are not a resident of the USA, you are responsible for ensuring that your actions comply with the laws of your country.
    • 1c. If you are found to be convicted of illegal activity, you may be banned from using the service.
  • 2. Do not use our services in a manner that violates intellectual property rights.
    • 2a. Do not upload content that is protected by copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property laws against the owner's wishes.
    • 2b. Do not upload visual content generated by an artificial intelligence model, such as DALL-E or Stable Diffusion, that was trained on copyrighted data against the owner's wishes.
    • 2c. Do not use our services to distribute or sell pirated content.
    • 2d. In the event of a copyright claim, the content in question will be removed. Reuploading content that was removed for copyright reasons may lead to a ban. For more information, see our copyright notice.

Safety

  • 3. Do not participate in the exploitation of minors.
    • 3a. Do not share or distribute any content that is illegal or harmful to minors.
    • 3b. Do not attempt to connect with a minor in order to exploit them.
    • 3c. Do not sexualize or objectify minors.
  • 4. Do not make threats or engage in harassment, on or off the service.
    • 4a. Do not threaten others with physical harm or death.
    • 4b. Do not reveal others' personal information or threaten to do so.
    • 4c. Do not engage in cyberbullying against others.
    • 4d. Do not threaten to commit suicide or harm yourself.
    • 4e. Do not encourage others to commit suicide or harm themselves, or instruct them on how to do so.
    • 4f. Do not impersonate others in an attempt to harm their reputation or cause them harm.
  • 5. Do not discriminate against others based on their race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or other characteristics.
    • 5a. Do not make comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, or otherwise discriminatory. In general, try to be a good person and treat others the way you would in real life.
    • 5b. Do not make fun of or promote hatred against others.
    • 5c. Do not use our service to organize or participate in hate groups.

Content

  • 6. Do not use our services for spam or misleading content.
    • 6a. Do not repeatedly post, comment, send messages, or otherwise upload content that is unwanted.
    • 6b. Do not create studios or other content that exists solely to direct users to other sites.
    • 6c. Do not submit content that is misleading or otherwise exists to deceive users.
  • 7. Do not use our services for violent, sexual, or otherwise disturbing content.
    • 7a. Do not post or share any content that is violent, contains realistic gore or torture of humans, or otherwise promotes violence.
    • 7b. Do not post or share any content that contains animal abuse or torture, realistic or not.
    • 7c. Do not post or share content that is sexually explicit or suggestive.
    • 7d. Do not post or share content that is otherwise offensive or disturbing.
    • 7e. If unsure about whether a piece of content is appropriate, please use the sensitive content warning or ask a moderator.
  • 8. Do not share personal information of yourself or others.
    • 8a. Do not share any of the following personal information regarding yourself or others, regardless of if it is public or not:
      • Full legal names of non-public figures
      • Email addresses
      • Phone numbers
      • Account passwords
      • Card or bank details
      • Home addresses
      • Sensitive credentials, such as a social security number, passport number, or other government-issued ID numbers
      • Photos or videos of non-public figures
      • Any other information that could be used to identify a person
    • 8b. Do not use others' private personal information to harass, threaten, or otherwise harm them.
    • 8c. Do not share details about others' personal lives without their consent.
  • 9. Do not post content that makes other users feel uncomfortable.
    • 9a. Keep sharing of personal details at a level that others can reasonably handle, and be mindful of how you treat darker topics. If you're not sure, here are some examples:
      • Less serious information, like "going through a really bad breakup :(" or "I've been having a rough week at school, sorry everyone", can be shared freely.
      • Moderately worrisome subject material, like "somebody broke into my house" or "I've been feeling bad about how I look lately", should be posted with appropriate content warnings and care. Use content warnings for posts that involve serious topics where applicable.
      • Thoughts and feelings that are directly harmful towards yourself or others should be kept private. If you want to talk to others in the community about topics like self harm or threats to your safety, consider reaching out to a friend and asking if you can share those details. Users 13 and up with messages enabled can also make a post asking for friends to reach out and talk about it; as long as others know what they're getting into, it's good to share your concerns with them.
    • 9b. Do not post content that is designed to incite panic in the community. This includes, but is not limited to:
      • Content that spreads misinformation about real-world events or the site itself
      • Content that leads users to fear for their safety or the safety of others
      • Content that causes unrest or anxiety in the community
    • 9c. Posts or other submissions that contain spoilers, serious topics, or sensitive content must be tagged with the appropriate warnings. If they're not tagged appropriately, tags will be added by moderators, or the content may be removed.

Abuse

  • 10. Do not abuse our services or make any attempts to bypass restrictions made against you or others.
    • 10a. Do not attempt to abuse our services for your own gain. This includes, but is not limited to:
      • Attempting to gain access to other users' accounts
      • Attempting to perform actions that only admins can do
      • Abusing security vulnerabilities in our services (if you believe you've found any, please contact us so that we may investigate)
    • 10b. Do not create multiple accounts to manipulate the site, evade restrictions made against you or others, or otherwise abuse our services.
    • 10c. Do not attempt to use our services to violate the terms of other services.
