Every once in a while, the stars align and the idea I have in my head goes perfectly according to plan. The other night I decided I wanted to go see a cartoon in the theater and take Jackson. The movie started a little late but Jackson was pumped with sugar from his cousin's birthday party and I thought he might be ok. We got to the theater and gave him more treats hoping he would stay awake. (A blue Icee and pop pop, as he calls popcorn.) The movie started and Jackson was in his own chair and I brought him into my lap, where he stayed and snuggled until Scott decided he wanted a turn. Jackson was so cute exclaiming, "Yay! Woah!" and clapping his hands. There were several times I looked over at them with the biggest smile on my face and as we were leaving I thought, "This night is perfect."

18 months!
At 18 months we have a little copy cat on our hands. You fold your arms for prayer and the other day when I was frantically looking for my keys I asked you where they were. You began looking around saying, "Keys" "where'd they go?" and looking under cushions. You say grandpa, cracker, and cookie in your "darth vadar" voice. We figured out where this voice comes from because Sesame Street was on and we heard cookie monster say, "Cookie." Grandpa and I looked at each other like light bulbs went on. He said, "that's why he says it like that!" You love your grandpa and watching Sesame Street with him.
This was the face you made the day after Christmas when you found out we were moving.

You love to be with grandpa and play catch with dad.
You are learning to sign and can sign more.
Grandma Cook taught you to play, "Here is the church, here is the steeple."

Happy Birthday Jack!
Jackson turned one this weekend which of course called for a small gathering. . . and an impromptu family picture. : ) Who made the rule that kids can grow up anyway? I'm excited for the new memories in his life, but had to shed a few tears that he's not a baby anymore. 1 year old=practically leaving for college.
We had a cookies n' milk themed party. Thanks so much to the lovely Julianna for the inspiration and advice, and Nicole for her baking skills!

And what's a first birthday without a baby eating his cake?

June
June brought swimming lessons, Stockton's birthday party, and eating potatoes in the pantry. 2 of my favorite pictures of all time.
