Okay, well... it's the next closest thing anyway. So it's a lake, and it's salty, and it's great! What more could you ask for when you live in a landlocked state and love sailing. You have to find the closest alternative, and this was IT!. Not too bad for a salty lake eh? Blue skies, fair winds, great people, good food, and even a SEAgull or two... niiiiiiice. 5/16/10

Love the holidays with our G'boys - they keep it real!
Over the river and through the woods to the G'boys house we go! :) Well... down the road and through the neighborhood anyway. Up at 5:30 (check) pack all the presents in the car (check) load the breakfast casserole (check) jammies and santa hats (check) camera (check check) and we are ready to roll. What a fun Christmas morning we enjoyed with Brynn, Chris, and the boys. A day full of cheer and good memories indeed ~ Christmas 2009 was a good one. ;)

Warm weather on it's way - ahhhhhh
Okay, so I haven't posted to my blog as often as promised, but there is just so much that always pulls us another direction ~ sleepovers w/the grandboys, movie night, basketball games, birthday parties, lunch with mom, phone calls to friends, weekend campouts, quiet dinner w/hubby, and all the other 'important' priorities that life brings (notice I did not include bills, cleaning, work, etc. as they are chores - not important priorities). One of those important priorities was a weekend campout at the dunes with the kids in April, where G'pa Marty tested his 'younger day' skills as a crazed '2-wheeler squeeler' up Sand Mountain, impressing even 4-yr old Brody who wondered if it was really "G-pa Marty who did that!" And the most recent priority - MOM's DAY, where brunches, BBQ's, and flower planting took center stage with all the mom's enjoying their day, their way - with family. The weather is now warm again...and that may mean.....more priorities that will keep me from my next post. Tah Tah for now!

Surviving Winter 2008

One of my New Year's resolutions is to post more often on my blog. Evident in the fact that my last post has a picture of me flying down the slip-n-slide in the heat of summer, which seems like eons ago as I look out at the frosty, inversion coated Oquirrh mountains in mid-January. Much has happened between then and now. Travels to San Diego to celebrate a dear friend's life who passed away from a brain tumor that was unyielding ~ Tears of sadness of a nephew's passing, but joy in celebrating his life and the smiles he left with all of us, and new baby nephews being born, bringing more smiles with the reminder of how life continues to go full-circle - full steam ahead. We've been enjoying time with family throughout the holidays - as this picture shows Marty and I with the kids and grandboys on Christmas morning - with the snow flying outside. A perfect time to put on our 'snugglies' while creating warm family memories...
