craft: an art, trade, or occupation requiring special skill.
hatchery: a place for hatching eggs of hens, fish, etc., especially a large commercial or government site where the young are hatched, cared for, and sold or distributed.
CraftHatchery is an online diary of my own hatching. I’d like to share my own work— with the universe, so to speak— because I believe that our creative work adds to the physical being of the universe. Because we add positive energy, with our creations, to the whole, we create a better universe within which to exist.
I spend time every day in creative hatching, whether the output is creative writing, drawing, painting, or photography. It is a meditative practice that requires a letting go of the past and the future, and becoming entirely aware and within the present moment. Even if my writing is about the past, in order to express it vividly, I must position myself in the moment I am describing, as if I am there, feeling and experiencing it.
Being in the now with every pen stroke is the idea behind Zentangle®, which you will see a lot of now that I am a Certified Zentangle Teacher.
If you go back through the archives, you’ll find that CraftHatchery began as a blog about visual journaling, which is one of my practices. I wholeheartedly encourage it in others. But there are other ways to practice art, and I will share my journey with those as well.
Please enjoy, and share your own thoughts and experiences.

I am not usually a chain letter/email person but something about this really appeals to me. I really appreciated being nominated myself and feel that it is a great opportunity to spread some positive energy…so I just want to let you know that I feel your blog deserves to be noticed.
Happy blogging.
P.S if you want some info on the background to the award, the following is good:
