Home sweet home! It is so good to be home, Shawn and I flew in on Friday night and we will be here until Wednesday. I love coming home to Oregon and to all my family that I love so much!!!
Shawn and I left Saturday morning (after we opened our presents to eachother) and headed up to Evanston, Wyoming to celebrate Christmas with his dad and family. We had a great time ( but I still missed my family and Christmas in Oregon alot). We had a great Platt Christmas! Brandon and Mandi and their two boys came to visit on Saturday, then Amanda, Ben and Vincient came for the day Sunday to play. And of course we got the play with Necha, Josh, Tessa, Maggie, Joseph, and Eugene the whole stay!
On Christmas morning we got to go through our stockings, and open some camping clothes from Necha and Josh, open some goodies from Garrett and Cynthia, and open a huge double sleeping bag from Eugene. We said we needed some camping stuff for the upcoming camping trips the family is planning on going on!
We got to play in the snow, visit with lots of Shawn's high school buddies, play lots of fun family games together, eat yummy food, and just spend lots of quality time together talking and relaxing!!! We love our trips to Evanston, and we really love spending time with Eugene and Joseph and the rest of the Platt family!
Here is Joseph playing his new Guitar he got from Santa Clause, Joseph is always playing his guitar when we are there visiting, he loves it. He was very ecited for his new guitar!
Here is Shawn with our cute little matching nieces (the only two there are with 7 little nephews) they are wearing their new Christmas jammies, they definatly look like sisters!
Grandpa Eugene with Vincent on Sunday. Amanda, Ben and Vince came for the day to play with us all. Vince loves to show off his teeth and close his eyes for all his pictures. He is so cute!
Here is a picture of Shawn's older sister, Necha, with baby Maggie. We had lots of fun hanging with Josh and Necha and their cute little girls during the whole break, it is so nice that they live so close to Eugene and Joseph so we get to see them all the time!!!

Shawn and I got to spend Tuesday evening in Salt Lake with my family, we had alot of fun together! We got to see a huge gingerbread house in the Grand America hotel where my parents were staying then we got to all have dinner together and then Shawn and I finalized our Salt Lake trip by seeing the amazing lights at Temple Square.
And here is a picture of two of my favorite boys, Shawn and Jared Paul. Jared had his surgery yesterday, I got to stay at the hospital with him for the day, which was fun and alittle sad too. We were told he was going to have a 1 hour surgery with a 1 hour recovery time and then he could go home that evening. Well, that turned into a 3 1/2 hour surgery with almost a 2 hour recovery time and an over night stay in the hospital and a loss of way to much blood which required two blood tranfusions...nothing easy is ever going to go Jareds way (but we have realized that already).............good thing he is so tough!!!
Well my husband has informed me that my life has now permanantley changed for the better...and that is becasue I have went to my first of many many wrestling tournaments. Shawn and I went up to Bountiful, Utah to watch his younger brother, Joseph, wrestle in a huge tournament with 21 other high schools. Joseph did well with his record (as of now) being 11-2. The tournament was crazy, six mats were set up with wrestling going on everywhere. Eugene (Shawn's dad) and Shawn were both so patient as they answered all my questions and explained all the moves and how many points you make, and all that good stuff. I know nothing about wrestling...I could probably tell you somthing about all other spoprts, but not wrestling. Well, my husband has also let me know that I will soon love wrestling and become the profesional wrestling watching mother! He is planning on having our boys start wrestling at 5! So, I better start getting use to it now!
Here is a picture of Eugene and his boys, Joseph "the wrestler" and Shawn my amazing husband who wishes that he could be wrestling right now. Wow, you should have seen him when he walked into the gym, he got so excited! He said he felt like he was going to be the one warming up and wrestling, he even got butterflies in his stomach when Jospeh would wrestle...just like he use to when it was him!
And here is a picture of Jared Paul. I just wanted to include a picture of him so everyone can say an extra prayer for him, becasue he has to go into surgery (again) on Wednesday.
School and work pretty much consume both Shawn and my days...we sure love the weekends. Like this weekend we are going on a little road trip and heading out to Laramie, to watch the BYU vs. Wyoming football game and staying to spend time with some friends. Shawn's Best friend, Garrett, lives out in Laramie and is an athletic trianer for the football team and one of my dearest friends, KaLee, my roomate for 3 years and her husband, Ronnie (also my friend) both are living in Laramie as well while Ronnie is going to Law School. I am very excited to see them, especially since KaLee is pregnant and ready to have her baby very soon...maybe while I am there!!!
Here is Shawn studying, he does that alot! He gets home from class and studys for most of the evening. But it is all paying off becasue Shawn has been doing very well in his classes.
Yeah, here I am at work at Utah First Title! This is my desk, I work as a receptionist so I am the first one everyone "gets" to see when they walk in
We had such a fun weekemd with my family in town. We watched the BYU football game together, then my mom, dad, and Kyle drove up and stayed with Blake, Amy, and Jared in Logan, where they went and watched a Utah State basketball and football game (as you can tell Kyle loves college sports). Then on Sunday the whole family got together at my little house and we had our big family Thanksgiving dinner a little early (since none of us will be able to go to Oregon this year for Thanksgiving), it was very good...just like home. Then afterwards we had some of our cousins and some friends come over for yummy treats and catching up. Then I got the day off of work on Monday, and my mom and I got to have a shopping day togehter...I miss those tmes together, so it turned out great.

Now my family is fyling home and going back to Oregon, the weekend went by way to quick...but there is a chance that they will be coming back out in December...let's hope so! I love visits with my family, I miss them so much while we are away from each other. Even though, it was so great having the family together, we still are missing Elder Nelson (in Pennsylvaina). He has 1 year left, and we cant wait to have him with us too. I hope to make it back out to Oregon...someday.
So, my family is in town and I am one happy girl, we all went to the BYU-TCU football game and of course the cougars won!!! They are undefeated and #1 in the MWC right now!!!
Here is a picture of my parents enjoying the game, my dad forgot that you should not wear red (U of U colors) at a BYU game.
A picture of Shawn and I at the game, it was a beautiful clear evening, but it cooled down the later it got.
And here is a picture of Kyle (or the King) my dad, me, and Shawn after the game. We got home at 11:30 at night. But it was worth it, it was a fun game.
Shawn and I spent the weekend in Evanston with; Garrett and Cynthia (Shawn's oldest brother) and their two little boys, Brandon and Mandy (Shawn's older brother) and their two boys, Necha and Josh (Shawn's older sister) and their two little girls, Eugene (Shawn's dad) and Shawn and I. We spent the weekend relaxing, watching movies, eating pizza and ice cream, talking, playing with all the little nieces and nephews, and all of the Platt boys went shooting. Shawn's favorite part of the weekend was that he was able to talk his dad and little brother, Joseph, into taking the Vesped moped back to Provo for the winter. Eugene bought the scooter at a garage sale a few months ago, and Shawn has been trying to figure out a way to get it to Provo that whole time. Shawn loves this thing. It will be nice to ride to campus to save on gas and he will be able to park alot closer to campus! You should see us because we ride on it together (I get to sit in the front) its great! We took a Sunday evening ride yesterday on the little path behind our house that follows the river through Provo, I wanted to drive for a sec. so, when it was my turn to drive I crashed it into a fallen tree in front of a big group of people (and they all laughed) because Shawn and I both fell off and we were only go 15 mph. I skinned my knee and hurt my hand. Shawn always drives now.
Here is a picture of Shawn with little Maggie (Shawn's older sister, Necha's, baby). Maggie was born almost 6 months ago and was born three months early and weighted alittle over 1 lbs and lived in SL Children's hospital for the last few months. So, we were so excited to finally meet her and to see her so happy and alert and chubby...she now weighs 10 lbs. She is such a good baby too, she just sits and chills on your lap and loves to look around with her big blue eyes. We are so blessed to have such amazing medical miracles happen, so that we can have Maggie in the family!
And, finally here is a picture of Shawn leaving for class this morning, on his "motorcycle" as he calls it. If you ask me this thing is far from a motorcycle. But it is so cute how much Shawn loves this thing already. Honestly, if you gave Shawn the choice of having a real motorcycle or this Vesped, I think he would choose the Vesped! He is in charge of Family Home Evening tonight, so you can all guess what we are going to be doing...go for a ride on the moped...O the exciting life of a poor newlywed couple!
Shawn and I had a nice relaxing weekend. We got to sleep, watch a movie, do homework, read, relax and babysit for my baby cousins. They are so cute and so fun and Shanw and I love to help take care of them. It is nice because I would love to have a little baby right now, but since we are deciding to wait a little while... it is perfect for us to play with and get our baby fix every once in awhile with the two cutest little twin girls there are!

Today is my mother's 50th BIRTHDAY!!! I am not sure she wants me to let the whole blog world know how old she is, but this is a very special day for her...its half a century!!! My mom, is so amazing, she has always been a wonderful example of a mother and a wife for me to look to and follow. She truly loves her husband, children, and the Lord so much and will always put those things in front of herself. I want my mother to know that I love her very very much, and that she is my best friend in the whole world!
The BYU football game was alittle chilly, but nothing we could not handle...
We left soon after the fourth quarter, since the score was BYU 38 - E. Washington 7 and the snow would not stop. Its a good thing Shawn bought us BYU ponchos before the game.

Shawn and I went to the Mt. Timpanogos Temple Friday night, then headed over to Lehi to Ben Crisantos house, to spend an eventful evening with Jared Paul, we love taking advantage of any chance we have to visit with Jared. Of course, since Jared was with his two best friends, Ben and Jason, he was so happy and laughing the whole night away. But of course he was also so happy to see his favorite sister and brother-in-law too!!!
