January 2012 - April 2012

I know I said I was going to jump back into blogging, well maybe I lied a bit. But I am going to try really hard. I felt like I couldn't just neglect our very awesome year 2012, so I am going to do a few posts to re-cap our year. It may be a while before another post, but I am working on it! Enjoy what I have so far!

JANUARY:
January was a very average, mellow month. Following the year we had just had, to have a mellow month was great!!

FEBRUARY:
Jon turned 30!!! How could I not post anything on this? He wanted a huge party (Jon loves a good party) so I said, "why not?" He had been through so much the year before so I not only wanted to celebrate him turning 30 but also him getting through his illness. But, do you think I took pictures of this party? Apparently not, because I don't have any. Oh well. I assure you it was a great party with a lot of his loved ones.

MARCH:
March was another average, slow month. Life just went on, which is great!

APRIL:
April is where our year got exciting (in a good way)!! First of all, Easter was in April. Here are a couple pictures of our Easter (I know, only a couple pictures, but it's obvious I am not the best at photo taking. It always just slips my mind.) We had an egg hunt at Grandpa and Grandmas, which are the best! They let the adults participate and there is always money in some of the eggs. It is a huge competition to get the most! Oh, and the kids got a few minutes head start to keep it fair.

My mom wanted to take a picture of all of us at the airplane. Obviously we were facing the sun, hence the squinting. But we are such a cute family! Too bad we were missing a few.

Another big event in April was that I finally graduated! I earned my degree at Weber State with a major in Health Promotion and a minor in Nutrition. It felt really good to earn my Bachelors Degree. I had set a goal to earn it, so to achieve that goal felt amazing!

Yay! I got a diploma holder!!

I have the cutest family ever!! The girls were so excited to see me graduate!

My dad was giving me a kiss on the cheek. Sweet dad!

I love my parents!!

I just thought this picture was precious. Kaylee and Abbie really are best friends, so I love this of them. Kenzie is your typical almost 2 year old.

Here are a few of my buddies that I went to school with, they were a great group!

And yet another big event in April. My baby brother, Troy got married. We welcomed Katrina into the family. What is funny is that I got a few pictures of things at the reception, but didn't get a single picture of Katrina and Troy (I know, I know)... The exciting part was getting to see Nick and Stacey and their cute family. It's so fun when they are able to make the trek from Texas!

Image
Jay and Bethany are just a super cute couple!

Image
How can I not post a picture of the cutest family on earth (next to mine of course)?

Image
We tried to get a good picture. I guess it's full of personality. We are not all GQ models like Nick and Stacey's family above!

Image
Well I guess I got one of Troy after all....

Image
We had pizza in the nursery for the family. I guess Kenzie thought her pizza was too cold because she was heating it up in the microwave.

Super Cute!

I made their cake. It was a lot of work! But, I thought it was a super cute cake!

We made it through the beginning of the year! So far so good!

Are you sick of crazy hair day yet?

I have had a lot of people make comments to me lately about this blog. Every single one of them has been: "When are you going to do a blog post? I am really sick of crazy hair day!"

Okay, so life has gotten away from me. I have so much to catch up on in the last year. I was doing so well with the blog last year. It was the best way to keep people up-to-date on Jons condition. Jon is doing better now. And I quit blogging. But I do have my reasons. My goal is to have a ton of posts now that you all wont know what to do with yourselves. (Okay you two readers wont know what to do with yourselves).

In short, most of you know that I have been working towards my Bachelors Degree. It was a goal of mine to earn it. I was taking 15 credits through Jons illness, and trying to go to school, deal with illness, be a mom, and other things that I had no control over (which I wont talk about, but very tough circumstances)..... it all took a toll on me.

Well happy to say, I graduated in April. A week after I graduated my brother got married, a week after that we moved. I spent the summer trying to get settled, which is very difficult with three kids home. I was determined to have things done by the time school started. A week ago, school started. And I got everything done!

So, while life has been hectic and chaotic, I think it's time to get back onto the blogging band wagon. I have a lot to catch up on, so it may take time. But I promise to do my best! (Isn't that part of the boy scout oath or something?)

Hope to be back very soon! I have to decide where to start.....

Doctors Visit

We went to Jons chemo doctor appointment today. It was a follow-up appointment to see how he is doing. Jon is doing great. His counts are still low, but the doctor said they are good enough that he can do any activity he wants. This is such good news! Jon has also started going to the gym at work and he is increasing his speed and distance each day, so he is doing so well. We are very happy that he is improving so much. This is going to be a really great year, I know it!!

Skippin ahead..... more drama

I am going to skip a few posts then go back and do them later because this happened last night, so while it's fresh I might as well post it. Last night I was getting ready to leave for Young Womens. Jon was talking to me as I was getting ready, then all of the sudden the girls just started screaming and Kaylee came running in and said, "Abbie slammed Kenzie's finger in the closet door and it is bleeding everywhere!" So Jon ran and grabbed Kenzie and sure enough she was bleeding like crazy. Her fingernail had been broken off in the middle and was just kind of hanging there. It would not quit bleeding. We got it wrapped and I called Wee Care Pediatrics. I asked them if we should do something. They said we should take her in just to be safe and be checked. We took her in and they said they wanted to do x-rays of it because it was so swollen. They took the x-rays and then the doctor came in to talk to us. He said since it was the nail area, there wasn't much they could do as far as stitching or anything and we would just need to wait a few days for the nail to just fall off. But he said he thought it may be broken but it was so hard to tell in the x-rays because she is so tiny. So they wrapped it and splinted it and are going to have a radiologist check out the x-ray. They also put her on an antibiotic to avoid infection. When we got home, she was in a crazy mood. I think it may have been the ibprofin we gave her for the pain. I wanted to take a picture of her finger and then she just started making these crazy faces. So there are a ton of pictures, but she was so cute. The pain set in shortly after the pictures and it was not a fun night with her, but I am so glad I got these pictures when I did.

Welcome home Elder Love

I am trying to play catch up before the end of the year so I can do a blog book of our year. That was the whole purpose of our blog this year, as a journal type entry of our crazy year! So, the week after Jon got back out of the hospital, my brother Troy, came home from his mission. We were so excited to have him home. He was supposed to come home on Thursday night at 9 PM, and that morning my mom checked his flight schedule and it said that his flight was 4 hours late to Hong Kong, which meant he missed his flight to LA. My dad called the church travel department and they said because of a Typhoon, his flight never even made it to Hong Kong and had to turn around and go back to the Philippines. They said they would call back when they knew when he would be coming home. Finally they called back and said that he wouldn't be home until Friday night at 9 PM. So he came home 24 hours after he was supposed to, but he did come home. It has been very nice to have Troy back home. It will be nice to have all our family missionaries home this next year. Elder Love was a wonderful missionary. He grew up a lot on the mission!
