Eligibility Requirements
To apply for a Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA), your child must be under 18 years of age and must appear in person at the US Consulate General in Curacao. The U.S. citizen parent must satisfy three basic criteria to qualify for a CRBA. The U.S. citizen parent must prove that:
- They are the biological parent of the child.
- They were a U.S. citizen before the birth of the child.
- They satisfy the minimum residency or presence requirements before the birth of the child.

HOW TO APPLY
Apply and Pay Online
- Access e-CRBA and follow the step-by-step instructions to complete your online application.
- List all your entries TO and FROM the U.S. and upload the required documents listed below.
- Child’s birth certificate.
- Parent(s) U.S. passport and/or naturalization certificate.
- Foreign parent’s passport or other government issued ID.
- Marriage and divorce certificates.
- Examples of documents to show you lived in the U.S. BEFORE the child’s birth: W2 forms, U.S. job letter(s), school transcripts, certificates, etc.
- Pay for your e-CRBA application and print payment confirmation to bring to your appointment.
- Bring the Form DS-2029 and all other documents mentioned above to your appointment.
- Make an appointment.
