Back to San Diego

Rick's work took us back to San Diego on New Year's Eve. We drove down the Rose Parade route and went and saw several floats.  It was fun to see them in person and then watch them on TV on New Year's Day.

The we went to our favorite place, the BEACH!   We stayed for a couple of months this time and went to the beach and watched the sunsets.

One day we went Whale Watching in a very large ship.  Jo was a great Captain!

We took this picture from Coronado Island looking back at downtown San Diego.  You notice we always wear sunglasses outside.  They make us look cooler...

And no trip to California would be complete without a trip to the Happiest Place On Earth!!

Christmas Parties

We had several Christmas parties that were lots of fun.  We had the Dahl Family at my parents.  Notice the lights on the wall on the right.

Adia was the Mother Mary for the Christmas Story.  Brody was asleep or he would have been the Baby Jesus.

We had our small family party and had lots of fun unwrapping presents. It was great to have Jared and Amelia and Henry with us.  We enjoyed Henry but I don't think he liked the cold weather too much.

The final party was the Petterborg party.  We went down to Todd and Melissa Barlow's church.

After all these parties we all scattered.  Jared and Amelia and Henry went back to Ft Lewis, Washington.  Jordan is going back to USU in Logan.  And JoAnn and I are going back to San Diego for work for several weeks.  It beats the cold weather in Dugway.

Big East Wind

Then came the EAST WIND.  We noticed the layer of white clouds that looked like a long ribbon of white cotton over the mountains and with-in a day or so the wind blew up to 100 miles an hour.

Here are some pictures of our home.  We had the fence blown down and lots of shingles blown off the house.  Almost everyone in the neighborhood lost shingles or siding.  The wind started at night and lasted until the next afternoon.  It looked like a tornado went through the cities.
Image
The golf courses in Davis County from Bountiful to Layton lost several hundred trees!  Poor golfers.

We were able to put the fence back up and braced it for a while. And Jordan and Jared helped repair the shingles on the roof.

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving Day dinner a week early so we could have Lori and Jarom and Adia and Gavin with us.  They did make their annual trek to Montana for the real Thanksgiving Day and had a great time there hunting and having their UN-Thanksgiving dinner of Steaks.  We had our parents over and had a very tasty dinner.
