Which Dev Board Should You Use?

Use the Seed:

  • Breadboarding
  • Want to be able to target different application types (Pedals, Eurorack, Desktop)
  • Prefer through-hole soldering for carrier board mating
  • Are providing power over USB

Use the Seed2 DFM:

  • Do not need to breadboard
  • Prefer SMT headers for carrier board mating
  • Need differential audio IO for superior noise performance
  • Can benefit from x2 additional ADC/GPIO pins than the original Seed

Use the Patch SM:

  • Making Eurorack modules
  • Do not need to breadboard
  • Want to avoid/minimize SMT assembly on your carrier board
  • Do not need custom CV input or audio IO circuitry
