Hardware¶

The Daisy ecosystem consists of different dev boards and reference designs which support the most common applications.

Which Dev Board Should You Use?¶
Use the Seed:
- Breadboarding
- Want to be able to target different application types (Pedals, Eurorack, Desktop)
- Prefer through-hole soldering for carrier board mating
- Are providing power over USB
Use the Seed2 DFM:
- Do not need to breadboard
- Prefer SMT headers for carrier board mating
- Need differential audio IO for superior noise performance
- Can benefit from x2 additional ADC/GPIO pins than the original Seed
Use the Patch SM:
- Making Eurorack modules
- Do not need to breadboard
- Want to avoid/minimize SMT assembly on your carrier board
- Do not need custom CV input or audio IO circuitry
