I Love the 4th of July

The Balloon Festival begins bright and early at 6:30!  Anyone who knows my family knows that that is an unheard of hour.  But we were able to pull ourselves out of bed to see the beautiful balloons rise up, up, and away.  A few we even got to see come back.  We cheered as they tossed beanbags from their baskets onto a big X marked on the field.

These are the best smiles you can get from my half-awake kids (and daddy)!

We were all excited to see Darth "Mater," as Brenna kept saying, inflate and take off.  He didn't go to far but it was pretty neat.

After balloons we went on our traditional donut run to the Provo Bakery for a very nummy breakfast.
I think I love the Fourth of July so much because we have some pretty awesome traditions.  Traditions are part of what makes family great!
Now we are off to the fireworks show.  Love It!!

Halloween

No Guts, No Glory

First you have to find the perfect pumpkin.  Kaylee wanted nice and round, Parker wanted tall, and Brenna was happy with what ever she could carry!

Hands Off--Go Parker

I have become and officially survived my first season as a so-called "Soccer Mom."  According to today's terms I guess it is a little late for me to have just experienced this new title. But I think we are no worse for the wear.  Parker got onto a great team with a good coach and he enjoyed learning the basics. I, on the other hand, also had to learn the basics of  how to juggle practices with homework, and game nights with Young Women's, not to mention a whole new set of rules and vocabulary for a sport I have never played or watched.  It was a busy September--and I can't say I'm disappointed to have a bit of a break from the back and forth.  Now I officially retire my "Soccer Mom" hat until next season!
