Kauai Trip

I had some time off the beginning of November so we thought that we had better take advantage of it. And what better way to do it than a trip to Kauai. We went back and forth trying to decide if we should go or not, but decided that this will be our last hurrah before these babies come.

Image In Kauai the west side you can only access by boat. We were able to take a boat tour to see the Napali Coast. It was so beautiful. The views were breathtaking.
ImageWe came across a pod of like 20 dolphins. They put on quite the show for us!

Image One of the other days there we did a doors off helicopter tour. Kind of scary but again we were able to see some amazing views of the island. I got off the helicopter and my legs were so sore from trying to keep from moving for fear that I was going to fall out of the chopper.

Image Being the nice wife that I am , we went golfing a couple of times (actually Danny did, I drove the first day, then the next day he went, I decided to go explore the island a little more)

Image Good form babe!

ImageDanny had lots of fun snorkeling! I am a little bit of a whimp when it come to the ocean so I spent most of my time just sunbathing! He would have spent the whole trip snorkeling if it was up to him! We saw so many pretty fish, he was able to swim right along side a sea turtle, and he even saw an octopus which changed colors a few times while he was watching him.
Image This was the view from our condo, it was such a nice place to stay, made it very hard to come home!

Image The island was full of waterfalls. This was one of the few that you can actually drive to. Such beautiful scenery. We had so much fun and were not ready to come back home to snow!

Ultrasound Pictures

We had an ultrasound on Friday. Just thought we share the pics of the little cuties.

It was so fun to see them! We are so happy that they are healthy! We found out that our new due date is May 5th.

Twinners

We finally have something blog worthy to blog about. Back in July we started the process for In-virto. That is basically what our summer consisted of. It is about a six week process of inject able medications. Going into this I was very scared for many reasons. I was really nervous to what the side effects were going to be from the medications and I was just nervous that it wouldn't work. All in all I have to say that it was a pretty easy thing to go through. I say easy only because it wasn't nearly as bad as we thought it was going to be. Every night as I gave myself a shot I thought.... We better get pregnant through this!

Towards the middle of August we did the whole egg retrieval and they did the fertilization. We ended up with 2 really good embryos on the day they did the transfer and we were able to freeze 3!

On August 27th we went back in to have the blood work done to see if the procedure was successful. We went to the clinic around 9:00 that morning and then they said that they would call us back later on that day with the results. We got home and Danny said "Darc you should just take a pregnancy test to see if you are" I was very hesitant because we had a bad experience with that once before, so I just didn't want to get my hopes up and then find out that it didn't work. Well I took one anyway and it showed up instantly that we were pregnant. Danny was very excited at that point but I still had to hear from the clinic before I believed it. Around 12:00 the nurse called and gave us the news "well you are definitely pregnant!" She said that my levels were really high. She said regularly they come back at around 100 and mine were at 912. She said that it could mean that either one implanted early on or that they both took. After we got off the phone we were so happy the water works began for me and we started passing the good news on to everyone! We later went back to the clinic on the 10th to see if there were twins or not. Sure enough the first thing the Dr. said when he was doing the ultrasound was "well you guys are going to have your hands full" our first thought was triplets but luckily enough its TWINS!

We couldn't be happier with the results. I don't know if we know quite what we're getting into, but I guess we won't know any different. The twins are due May 1st.

Going through this whole process we have felt so blessed by many friends and family members that have included us in many of their prayers and fasts. We have been so amazed at the outpouring of love that we have received from each one of you. This has been such a long journey for us. We wouldn't change it for a thing though. We are grateful for the lessons we learned and for the knowledge that everything happens in the Lords time and he knows whats best for us. I truly have gained such a testimony of that. We are so grateful for the love and support that we have received from everyone. We couldn't have done this without you! Now the next time I post will probably be when we find out the sex of the babies!

Sorry I always hate posts without pictures but I can't get our scanner to work or else I would post the ultrasound pic!

Long Time Coming

I know that these pictures have been a long time coming. We are in our new home! We closed on November 19th, which also happened to be our 5 year anniversary. I will apologize now for the long post. Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Image

Here is the outside of the house. We did have a few set backs along the way, they completely messed up on the exterior of the house. They did the wrong stucco and stone. Unfortunately they were unable to change it in order for us to be able to close by the estimated date, so they ended up compensating us in other ways to make up for it. Luckily the color is not bad, it could have been a lot worse.

We are so happy to be in the house. It has been so much fun. It is so nice to have all the space! We love the way everything turned out. We still have a lot of work to do but bit by bit it is coming together.

Now for an update on everything else! As I mentioned above we had our 5th year anniversary. It is so hard for me to believe that it has been 5 years. Some days it seems like it has been longer than that and other days it seems like just yesterday that we got married. I am so grateful for Danny and the rock that he is in my life. He is so good for me. Those of you who know him know that it is very rare for him not to have a smile on his face. He has the best outlook on life and such a good attitude for life and the trials that come with it. In December he had a 2 week training in Tennessee, lets just say it was the longest 2 weeks of my life. It made me realize just how lucky I am to have him in my life. I cannot imagine life without him. He bring so much joy and happiness to me.

We spent Thanksgiving with Danny's family here in Utah. Then for Christmas we went up to Idaho to spend time with my family. It it is always so nice to be able to spend time with friends and loved ones over the holidays.

This week we were able to get together with Danny's friends from high school (Fab-8). It was so fun to see everyone, and are grateful that we have all been able to stay in touch.

Reflecting on 2009, we feel like we have been so blessed. We have had our trials, but are so grateful for the blessings that have come into our lives this year. We are grateful for friends and loved ones for their love, support, prayers, and fasting on our behalf.

We hope that 2010 (so crazy to write that) brings you much happiness.

Home Sweet Home

Well, after what feels like an eternity of searching for our first home we finally found one! When we placed an offer on the home it had been framed and plumbed but that was it. We had seen a home that was the exact same floor plan that was finished that we really liked.

We heard back from them that our offer had got accepted. We were so excited. The house is in West Kaysville, which is always where we wanted to be, but figured we would never end up if we wanted a newer home in our price range. We had settled on Syracuse or Layton. So when we found this we were really excited.

The house should be finished hopefully by the end of October. We are hoping to be in by the latest the middle of November.

I had the opportunity last week to go and pick everything out for the interior. It was so much fun! Danny wasn't able to go with me because he had a work obligation that he could not get out of, so I am excited to see what he thinks of all the decisions I made! Hopefully he likes what I choose!

Here are some pictures.... we will keep you updated on the progress!
Image This is what the house looked like when we placed the offer on Sept. 5th

We are so excited for this time in our lives. We look forward to being closer to our friends and family in that area. It is kind of bitter sweet for us. We are truly going to miss Park City and the people up here and the beautiful scenery, definitely not the snow. But we hope that we can come up often to visit.
We are so grateful for a wonderful agent Jeremy Leger and for his help in this process.

Clarification

I know you are all shocked and stunned that I am posting just over a month of my last post!! I just wanted to clarify... we are not moving, at least not yet! Danny's new job will keep us here in Utah. His territory will be all of Utah, Northern Nevada, South East Idaho, and Lake Tahoe.

We are looking to buy a house in the near future though. Danny will need to have a home office, and our little condo is too small, so unfortunately we will be moving from Park City. I can't even type that with out getting a little bit teary eyed. We have absolutely just loved it up here. We have made some life long friends here. We hope after we move we will always be welcomed in their homes, because we plan on coming up often!

Danny and I feel very excited for the next year in our lives. We hope that it finds us in a house, as a mommy and daddy, or at least prego!

Danny has been out on business for the last couple of days and I have missed him so much. I know I shouldn't complain, I have a dear friend whos husband has been in Afganastan and will be there for the next year. Whenever he is gone it just makes me realized how blessed and lucky I am to have him. I am so proud of Danny, and all the hard work that he has put in to getting this job. I have been a little absent lately because I have been so consumed by girls camp stuff. So before he had an emotional wife, and know he has a REALLY emotional and stressed out wife. Hang in there babe, I will be back to my just emotional self in a couple of weeks!

We are still alive

Hello everyone! I know it has been like 6 months since I lasted posted. I always hate to write just to write, but I finally have things to blog about so here it goes.

Back in April we had the chance to spend some time with my family. My little bro Tanner left on his mission. So we had his farewell up in Idaho. Then my family came down here to take him to the MTC (I hate that place). He is doing so good. We are all so proud of him. I had the chance earlier this week to talk to him while he was waiting for his flight to Mexico. It was so good to hear his voice. I don't know how these young missionaries do it, I think it would be so hard. We are anxiously waiting for his first letter since he has been in Mexico.
Image
In May, my brother Levi and sister-in-law Kara had their baby. Marley Shay was born on May 1st. She is so adorable! Levi was actually able to deliever the baby with the Dr. along his side of course.
This month has been pretty busy so far. Last week Danny's little brother Dave got married. It was a beautiful day and wonderful reception. We are so happy that they finally decided to tie the note after dating for almost 2 years! Congrats Dave and Linds! Right after the reception on Saturday night we headed up to Idaho because Levi and Kara were blessing their baby.
Now for the real exciting stuff..... (drum roll please) Danny will start a new job on June 29th! He was referred to this job by one of his dads friends. After a couple of interviews here in Utah, they flew him out to St. Louis, and then last week they flew him out to Knoxville. After about a month of these interviews, we finally got the good news! I am so proud of Danny for all the hard work that was put into this interview process. I know that he will be successful in whatever he does, and I know he will always be able to provide for our little family. Having this job means that we will be able to move forward with our infertility issues. We feel so blessed and appreciate everyone who helped us along in this process. Thank you for all your prayers on our behalf. We look forward to what the future hold for us!

Its going to be a long one!

I know it has taken me a while to get these pictures up. We had such a blast on our cruise, and are grateful to Ed and Lynette for a fun trip!

ImageImageImageWe also have welcomed a brand new baby into Danny's family. Our sister-in-law Ashley, gave birth to Little Reese, coming 8 weeks early. She weighed in at 4.9 and is improving every day. She is such a little miracle. She looks like a beautiful little baby doll. Congrats Nate and Ash! Image

Remembering 2008

Okay so I got this idea from my sister-in-law Kara and I had fun reading theirs, so hopefully you will enjoy reading what happen in 2008 for the Erickson's!! Thanks for the idea Kar!

January-The only think we can think of for January is we were already ready for summer and getting depressed that we still have 2 more months of the white stuff!! (we ask ourselves all the time why we are still living here) We do love it here we could just do without the LONG winters!

Image

February-I was able to go on a trip with my mom to California to visit my Aunt Janice. We had so much fun together. We spent a day in San Fran, and a day in Old Town Sacramento and spent the rest of our time shopping. I love whenever I get to spend time with my mom. I remember missing Danny so much though, I had just bought a book that had a 1001 ideas to be more romantic and I took it with me on our trip, so needless to say I missed him that much more.

Image March-March Danny was able to go on his annual golf trip with his dad, brothers and friends! They go every year right around March Madness! The highlight of March though was when Danny won his TV!!

Image April-We both celebrated birthdays in April! My friend Melissa and I surprised our husbands with a trip to Southern California. The highlight of the trip for us didn't even have anything to do with sightseeing in California, it was just what Jeffrey did to make us all almost pee our pants laughing. Don't worry we won't go into details! Another memorable event from that trip was that we went whale watching and didn't even see any whales!

Image May-It started out good we went on a trip with Danny's family down to Palm Springs, CA. His mom had found this killer house that had it own pool, and we spent our time in the pool, golfing (of course, what would an Erickson Vacation be without golfing) and shopping. The end of the month was very somber, our great friends Vic and Molly had the worst thing ever that could happen to a parent happen to them. Their sweet daughter Lucy chocked on an apple on Sunday morning after church. I remember that day so vividly. After many prayers and fasting on her behalf she was welcomed back to our Heavenly Fathers arms on May 22nd. We love you Vic and Molly and feel blessed to have known Lucy, she is a beautiful little girl and only regret not knowing her better the latter part of her life her on this earth.

Image Check out their blog for their amazing story :http://jacksonparkcity.blogspot.com/

June-The weather was finally warm, which means I don't see much of Danny. Golf and softball season consume most of his time. I enjoy watching him play, and love every chance I get to go golfing with him. My cousin Taunya was Married in the Rexburg temple. June actually started a summer of spending a lot of time with my family.
ImageJuly-July was a busy month, we spent the Fourth of July in Idaho Falls with my family. I love the fourth of July in Idaho Falls. We had a family reunion with my Mom's side and it was so fun to see everyone. Then over the 24th of July we went to California for a McAffee family reunion with my Dad's side. We camped on the beach, and had a blast with everyone. I love this picture of m dad and nephews playing super heroes.

Image August-We spent a weekend with my family up at Pineview (I told you we spent a lot of time with my family but I loved it!) We were all able to be there except for Kara. It is always nice when we can all be together. My cousin Ashley and her husband Nick and their little cutie came to stay with us for a couple of days. We spent a weekend in St. George to see our friends Leslie, Morgan and Alie. We went to Tuacan with some friends in our ward to see Les Miserables, we had such a blastr. We got some exciting news, Nate and Ashley (Danny's brother and sister-in-law) announced that they were expecting the first grand baby on the Erickson side. We are all very excited. We love August because that is when the leaves start to change up here in Park City, it is my favorite time of year up here, it is absolutely beautiful.Image September-We found out that I would have to have surgery, but were very excited that we FINALLY had some answers! Other that that it was a pretty uneventful month.

October-I had my surgery and everything went very well. We went on our annual trip with Jeff and Melissa to St. George for a golf tournament. We got some very exciting news from Levi and Kara (my brother and sister-in-law) they announced that they were pregnant with their first. We can't wait to have 2 new little nieces.

November-We spent Thanksgiving with Danny's family. Both his brothers were with their In-laws so it was a small crowd with his mom and dad, Uncle Ralph, and Jim, Brenda and Garrett! We went shopping at midnight at the outlet malls, it was madness! Last but not least we celebrated our 4 year anniversary.

December-Danny was in a car accident. We went on our cruise with Danny's family to the Western Caribbean. We had a blast (pictures are on their way, I left my camera in Idaho, hence no pictures for the last few months). We spent Christmas in Idaho with my family. This will be our last Christmas together because my little bro will be leaving on his mission in April. He got called to Puebla Mexico! We are so proud of him and excited for this time of his life.
Image
We feel so blessed as we look back on the year 2008. It brought lots of laughter and memories as well as some heartache. We hope that the new year brings you all very much joy and happiness.

Oh The Weather Outside is Frightful

So far this year winter has been pretty mild.... in fact the ski resorts are all worried that there will not be snow this year. We have only had a couple storms come in that have laid few inches of snow on the ground. Danny and I welcome a mild winter with open arms. We both HATE the cold weather and the snow. Well, yesterday just happened to be one of days that we got some snow. Danny had a very unfortunate event happen, he was in a car accident and totaled his car. He hit a patch of ice and did a complete 360 on the freeway from the middle lane and hit the cement barricade. Fortunately he was not injured. It could have been so bad, we feel so blessed that it was not worse and that he was not injured, just a little sore. The insurance adjuster came out today and declared the Accord totaled. We just purchased this car about a year and a half ago, it was used, but it still felt like a new car to us.

Danny and I do not have the best luck when it comes to car accidents. Our first year of marriage in Aug of 2004 I was in an accident with my mom in the car, and the car was totaled (the accident was not my fault) we had just purchased that car from my brother-in-law about a month before the accident. About two weeks after that Danny was in a small fender bender (it was his fault...dang cell phones). Then last summer 2007 i was hit by a semi (again not my fault). In January of 2008 we were at a wedding reception and we noticed that someone had hit Danny's car, of course they did not leave a note so that came out of our pocket. I know it is hard to believe but there is one more.... 1 month ago Danny was sideswiped by another car( this was not his fault) we just got his car back about 2 weeks ago.

We feel very blessed that through all those accidents we have never been hurt. After I had gone to pick Danny up yesterday he told me "I am going to spend all day looking for a job somewhere warm." I am so grateful that Danny is okay and still with me today. It is incidents like this that make you realize how truly blessed you are.

This weekend we are going on a cruise with Danny's family we look forward to getting away and hopefully relaxing and not worrying about what kind of car we want to get, how much we want to spend, and when we want to make the purchase.. I am so bummed to I was supposed to be the one to get the new car next!!

Four Years of Marital Bliss

Image
Today is our Anniversary. We have been married now for four years. I can't believe how fast time has gone by. Looking back I never would have pictured my life being where it is now. I thought that we would have had a baby or two by now, and no longer living here in Park City. Although four years ago I would have chosen a different path for our marriage to go, I wouldn't change it if I could. I am grateful for the time we have had together just the two of us. I am grateful for the trials that we have experienced together. I am grateful for the fun memories that we have made. I am grateful that I married my best friend. We have so much fun together. I am grateful for a husband that respects me and is sensitive to my needs. I am grateful for the provider he is for us. Grateful for his willingness to cut back on his sporting events for his needy wife. I am grateful for his happy disposition. Most of all I am grateful he is MINE. He is such a blessing in my life and I sometimes wonder what I did to be so deserving. Thank you babes for 4 wonderful years. I couldn't be any happier. I love you and look forward to what the future holds. Happy Anniversary!

We celebrated last week because my work schedule was a little bit more flexible. I had told Danny that I wanted to go away to celebrate so he surprised me and took me to the Alaskan Inn in Ogden Canyon. We left early Thursday afternoon, and went to the Timbermine for dinner and then just had a nice relaxing evening. It was so nice to just spend time together and not have anything to worry about. Thanks for a fun night babe.

Okay we will stop for a while with all the mushy posts about each other.

Blogging Problems

Excuse my discombobulated blog right now. I am not the best when I comes to these kind of things. I decided to change my background, but now I can't figure out how to get this header off. So if any of you have any advice or tips on how to get it off, I would love to hear them.

Goodbye Summer

Well I think that summer is officially over. It has been snowing pretty much non-stop for the past two days up here. I am usually pretty giddy over the first "real" snowfall, but not this year. I feels like I blinked my eyes and summer was gone. After a winter like last one I am not ready for the snow again. Every winter that rolls around we always tell ourselves that this will probably be the last one we have to endure, and her we are yet again with another winter at our fingertips.

Here are some pics from our fun filled summer. (This ones for you Britt)
