Old McDonald Had a Farm...And on that farm...A CHINCHILLA???

Brayden has been singing a few songs repetitively for the past few months.  His favorites are:

Jesus Loves You
Little Children of the World - (Jesus Love the Little Children)
BiBiE- The BIBLE
I am a C

These just happen to be the same 4 I have sung to him many, many times since he was born- his lullabye songs- and I learned a few weeks ago, that my mom sang them to me in the same exact order many, many years ago when I was little- off of my favorite tape.

He also loves to sing:
Baa Baa Black Sheep
Old McDonald Had a Farm
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Driving in the car this weekend, he wanted to sing Old McDonald had a farm...and we always let him choose the animals that are on the farm.

First a cow
Then a chinchilla
Then a duck
Then a kitty cat (with a little bit of a southern accent)

So you may ask, what does a Chinchilla say..."sooooft" - That's what his Aunt Lauren taught him a chinchilla says- and you can see him petting his arm softly as she taught him as well.

So...here it is...a bit long, but worth it!

Stomping Grounds

Since Pump It Up was closed, we ended up at Stomping Grounds.  I had heard from a friend that our kiddos were finally at the right age to play there by themself- so we tried it out!

Brayden had a great time- he played for about 2 hours straight!

Pajama and Teddy Bear Day at School

Brayden was able to wear his pajamas and bring his teddy bear to school today.  He had so much fun and continues to ask to wear his pajamas out anywhere he goes.

"Like Paw Paw", he said proudly!

I also learned that as much as he thinks he's ready to climb this monster- he can get up, but he can't get himself back down!

Praying God's Word...One Week at A Time

Image
Brittany over at the PoeFam Blog started this challenge for herself last year and is continuing it again this year.  She is vowing to study/meditate/pray over a single verse for her family each week this year.  She mentions how at the beginning of the week she isn't always sure why she is praying over that topic, but by the end of the week, God has made it clear.

I am excited to do this this year- and have already written each verse on the week in my calendar.  I plan to make a print out of each verse as well to put on my mirror.  I can't wait to see how the Lord blessed me through praying for my family, husband, son and myself as a mother this year!

Will you join us and journal each week or as often as you can what God teaches you through that topic of prayer?

Leave a comment and let me know you are joining this group of Mommies in Prayer!

Big Boy Bed!

We converted Brayden's bed into a full bed and he LOVES it!  We put the real rails on it this weekend and its about 1 1/2 feet off the floor, but he can still get in and out of it safely.  So far...he's changed his nap and night time routines from screaming and kicking the door....to reading books, saying our prayers, giving kisses and hugs, leaving the door open, and him falling asleep by himself!  HALLELUJAH!  So far so good!  Praying this continue!  It was a tough couple of weeks breaking him of his earlier habits, but it's paid off at home and at school where he is napping everyday!

We're still looking at beddings, so he has random blankets and sheets for now :)
