Wonderwild

A few weeks ago, Megan Salch, the author of the FABULOUS book, 100+ Activities for Houston Kids, came to speak at our MOPS meeting.  I was given this book as a late baby gift and we LOVE it!  I HIGHLY recommend it for anyone with kids in Houston- She lists activites and rates them by her standards as a mom- by month of the year, season, area, and now free and kids friendly restaurants.

She spoke of a new place called Wonderwild in the Heights and I told Aunt Lauren about it because it's close to her home.  She came last week and took Brayden for a morning and he LOVED it!  We will certainly be going back there this summer.

Bike Day

Brayden's school had bike day a few weeks ago...He was SO excited to take his Lightening McQueen bike to school, and his helmet!  I stayed to snap a few pictures and the kids were all so cute.

Zoo...again :)

I am sure you have realized it already, but we LOVE the zoo...we headed there this morning with 9 total kids and 5 mommies and we had the best time!  We are all three SO very thankful for our friends and can't wait for many more adventures with them as the kiddos get older :)

Missing a few--- this was hilarious to try to get all of them to even look at the camera

The chimps were around this fake termite mound, which I thought they put termites in for them to pick out, but they use these tubes things filled with apple juice and the chimps use pieces of bamboo to get the liquid out.  It was fascinating to see!

As usual, Brayden said the whole time he wanted to ride the carousel, but when we got on it, he wanted to ride the "bench."  But halfway through the ride he asked to sit on the elephant, so of course I got up and put him on it!  He was still terrified, but smiled a little bit for it!  When he got off he wanted to make sure Mrs. Andrea and Mrs. Laura knew he did it all by himself :)

Precious Baby Girl

We have loved watching my sweet niece yesterday and today while her Mommy goes back to work...  Aunt Shannie had lots of fun snapping a few photos today when we were playing outside :)

And just in case you thought I had forgotten my son....we did lots of fun stuff too!  Thanks to Mrs. Erin who sent us home with this fun craft after our playdate yesterday- we had a fun craft to do today!  Stamping a 4 leaf clover with a potato

Scrub and Dub Dub...in the Sink!

Sweet Kelbie made a huge mess while eating her lunch today- so we opted for a bath in the kitchen sink- Brayden did this a few times when he was younger and LOVED it just as much as Kelbie did :)  (his pictures are below)

St. Patricks Day

We had a splendid St. Patricks Day!  We were blessed to be able to watch my sweet niece Kelbie and celebrate with her!

Playing outside in the "big sand box"- i.e. the empty lot down the street- he still loves his rain boots and leaves his helmet on while playing!  Couldn't resist!

I saw the idea here- http://familyfun.go.com/recipes/taste-a-rainbow-cupcakes-842128/
Ours didn't quite turn out the same- I didn't get as many colors mixed in as I wanted.

Playdate with Tessa at their new house- they made rainbow bracelets and ate them up!

For dinner we had shepherds pie (from the new cookbook we are doing) and topped it with green mashed potatoes (pureed spinich mixed in)

And it was a hit!  Daddy cleaned his plate too!
Except for my little one who still won't eat mashed potatoes of any kind :(
