The Big Move

For a while now Dave has been talking about being done with FedEx. He had been delivering packages for almost 5 years now and was getting tired of some of the stress that goes with working for a large corporation. And as an individual contractor he had all the micromanaging from corporate headquarters but none of the benefits of an employee. He also had realized there wasn't much room for growth and he wanted to be doing more. So when his dad offered him a position in his business Dave jumped on the chance and put the FedEx route up for sell. Honestly I thought it would take at least six months, but the route sold in just a few weeks and so I had only about a month to get everything taken care of before we made the official move to California.
My Parents were nice enough to come to Rexburg the first week of march and help us get everything packed and cleaned. I could not have done it without them.
I was able to spend one last weekend with all of my good friends. I sure am going to miss them and our girls night out.

Here I am with a few of the girls.

Monday the 12th after loading up the moving van and cleaning until around 4, we headed to California. We stopped that night in Elko. The next day we tried to make the rest of the trip to Hollister but found that Donner pass was requiring chains. So my parents continued in the tahoe with Nathan and Dave and I decided to wait the weather out. We ended up staying at Circus Circus. We ate an early dinner and played a couple slot machines for fun. I actually won $75 with one of my spins, of course I cashed out and called it good. Then we were both so tired we went to bed early that night. The next morning after checking the weather report we decided we were going to have to buy chains because they were expecting bad weather for the next 5 days. Se we bought some chains and started over the pass only to be turned around shortly after crossing into California because of a downed power line. So we waited in Reno for another hour until the road opened and finally started the final leg of our move. Of course they stopped us to make sure we were carrying chains but never actually required us to put them on the moving van. What a waste of money.
It was great to finally make into Hollister and to start getting everything settled in. Being pregnant I have found all of the work involved in moving and the traveling just exhausting. We have been here for almost 2 weeks now and are slowing making the adjustments to our new life. We are staying with my parents for a few months until we can find a more permanent place for us.
Nathan loves being so close to family.
He really loves playing on Papa's Ipad.

Especially reading the Book "The Monster at the end of the book"
He thinks it is so funny to undo all the ways Grover tries to stopped you from turning the pages.
