Trust in the Lord's Steadfast Love
Back in September my first child came into the world. I had prepared with Lynn to be there by her side to coach her and help her through the labor, but when the time came, my place until the final pushes was out in the hall. I waited there with the husband of the other woman in labor at the same time. As we heard the chorus of groans I mentioned to my waiting partner how much we must trust in God, for he is the one in control. My thinking continued internally and I recalled these words in Psalm 33:16-19, "The king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength. The war horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue. Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine."
These are always hard truths for me to swallow. I like to solve problems, I like to develop my skills; I was ready to make labor go as smooth as possible for Lynn. We had prepared and read and done all the work- I was going to be a great birthing partner; yet, it wasn't so. And what a vain hope and trust that was and is- to think we can control all things. Or that we should become great in and of ourselves. I was very well doing the right and faithful activities in preparing. My work and labor and developing was the right thing to do. However, my over-trusting in them was the wrong sort of thinking. As Proverbs 21:31 puts it wisely, "The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the LORD."
When I was eleven one of my favorite verses was Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." Those words continue to ring true in my own life as they have for centuries to all that would heed them.
It was over a week ago now, that as I was praying for my Mom I wanted to share these thoughts with her. See, she's not like me, but I'm like she and Dad. The Lord has graciously blessed us with strength, good minds, and much; yet, our own glory in like the grass and flowers of the field that are beautiful and sweet for their season, but then they are done for; however the Word of the Lord has staying power. So it is in the Word made flesh that we must continually be anchored to and hope and trust in Jesus.
Psalm 33:20-22 sings, "Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in you."
Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in you!

Bach, Music, and the Glory of God
Today [March 21] is the 325th birthday of Johann Sebastian Bach, who said, “The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul.”
If one’s soul pursues delight in music without regard to glorifying God, music becomes an idol that eventually disappoints and robs.
But if one’s soul finds delight in glorifying God with music, then the two things (the glorifying of God and the refreshment of the soul) are not two things, but one.
I got this quote from here. And it was posted March 21.
10th Photo
There's a exiting blog-world sharing of the 10th picture and here's my contribution. If I have five readers, you are all tagged to post your 10th picture in your photo folder to your blog and tell the story. Usually the 10th picture is more like 8-10 because there's some classics:

Monthly Bull
If I could get some of these embryos made, that's what I'd like. Sharla is a Shottle out of an Outside out of EX-92 Wesswood-HC Rudy Missy, who is the dam of Oman Missy Martha, the dam of Shottle Shampoo. Or, Sharla is a full sister of Spearmint at Select:

High test, type, and health traits.
Seems like a good cross to me, but it may just be all genomic numbers adding up. We'll see.
Some Pine-Tree breeding will be available at the Ohio Convention Sale.
Dam: USA 63651463 PINE-TREE MINT SHARLA-ET
The USDA Elite Cow list is where I found Sharla: (not this page, but on page 1.)

I would search more, but I've certainly gone over my just a few minutes to look up a cow and bull quick. That was Leader Melanie and her Goldwyn son Aretheusa Maurice- one of Hadwen Kleiss' favorites right now.

I mentioned him earlier and now he has a few daughters milking (70 in 39 herds) doing well.
Plus on 3841 breedings he has a SCR (Sire Conception Rate) of 0.7
And an outcross:
NO-FLA RECAP-ET 029HO14486 Genomics: 776 CM$
Recap is a Lutz-Brookview Michael (ITO x BELLWOOD) out of an OMAN from an MTOTO.
