A Reminder of the Important Things in Life

And it couldn't have been more timely.

I just came from CFC CLP (Couples for Christ Christian Life Program) and I have a feeling that I am so going to be great friends with my new group. I sense that God is giving me another great blessing and for that I am so thankful.

Watch and see how easy it is to be happy when you remember the really important things in life.

As Good as Cash

Businesses here in Sg are fond of giving vouchers for almost anything under the sun. As rewards, for spending a certain amount, for eating at a restaurant.

I have in my purse right now, the following vouchers and coupons. I like the thought that in case I run out of cash or in a tight fix, these can actually help.

1. $10 for NTUC, a major grocery chain here
2. A voucher to redeem one movie ticket. Which I should use ASAP since it expires end of August
3. $10 for a meal to Imperial Treasures. I doubt I can get to use this since Imperial is mighty expensive.
4. Tickets for two to IMAX in SM. Hopefully we can finally use this in our trip back home in December. And I hope that a good movie is playing. Hate to waste it on a crappy movie. That and two hours of my time too.

Thinking of redeeming a voucher for Esprit. Its my go to store for pants and jackets. And I need one of each ASAP. Egads, I think I've caught the Sg shopping bug! I'm afraid.

My Blog's Anniversary, a Day too Late

The first post on this blog made its debut last July 29, 2006. It's been six years since and although I can't rightfully say this blog has gone a long way (in terms of readership, I mean), six years is nothing to sneeze at in blog years.

Six years of recording my life and my brain farts. Mostly my brain farts. I meant to do more of the former but well, life and a wandering mind gets in the way. I'm thinking of taking blogging further. Maybe not this blog specifically, but I can always make another one and advertise it.

Willpower, do your thing!

Dear Lord, I want a baby

Never have I had so much baby envy as these last few months. Before I never cared about these things. But as my FB news feeds get clogged with baby news and births, I cannot help but feel that I should have my own little bundle of joy too.

I can now totally imagine myself as a doting mama when these stuff never used to figure in my daydreams. But times changed and maturity and I have met up. It took long enough. :D

So here I am broadcasting my prayer wish to the universe. Universe, please do your best.

I Hope I Get to Do More Than 3

The title refers to the number of posts I made for May and June. A sad total of six posts for two months. Ako na ang delinquent blogger.

So lets get down to the business of documenting my life.

I just celebrated my birthday recently. Although I had fun and was happy enough, I felt that I could have done more to make my birthday even more special. I'm neurotic like that. But married money is apparently so much less than single money so I had to content myself with treating my friends to dinner at Gerry's Grill in Somerset. If I had my way and my money, it would have been at a Marina Bay Sands restaurant.

I privately also thought that the food was somehow lacking in quantity and I disappointed our friends. And the worst thing is I did not have a single picture on my birthday this year. Was feeling bummed about that for days afterwards. My friends being the lovely persons that they are showered me with lots of gifts and I've been opening one each time I need a pick-me-up. Hehehe. Delayed gratification at its best. :D

To be continued... (life got in the way)

The Weekend That Barely Was

And the weekend just whizzed by with me barely able to catch its tail. Granny that I am, weekends are now defined by how much household chores I can get done. Is it possible? Am I now an (gasp!) adult? I never thought I can care so much about the household being in order. :D

Anyhoo, Saturday's high point was getting my period and the cramps that go with it. I'm sorry is that TMI? I overshare like that sometimes. :D We had the final party for Emman last Saturday. It was a triple threat party actually. Lai's and Jude's birthday were celebrated too. And what do you know. Someone, actually two someones, predicted that I would have a baby boy. Logically, you could call it a load of crapola being that  a Mongol pencil, a needle and thread were used predict what and how many babies a person can have.

But it gave me hope. I know its sacrilegious and I may be going to hell for this but it gave me hope and sometimes a person can live on hope alone.

We took Emman to the airport and I was surprised we managed to be unemotional about it. And she has touched down safely in Oz so that's something to be truly thankful for.

Sunday, we uncharacteristically woke up early (read: before 11 am) and went to church. It was a wonderful day to be outside. We had lunch at the hawkers near the church, did some necessary groceries and then went home where I proceeded to cook up a storm. That and washing all my clothes plus managing to unpack another box counts as my chores done for the weekend.

The vacuuming is still waiting to be done as well as 4 remaining boxes. I also want to make sure that the bathrooms are sparkling. They are super grimy-gross now. I hope that the husband gets his butt working on it tomorrow.

Now its past midnight, my right eye has been swollen since Friday night and I really got to get to bed. Hope my eye gets better tomorrow. But it looks like its going to be glasses again however.

Yes, I am barely coherent now so good night.

Things I'm Happy About

The lazy way to blog. Make lists! :D And here's another one of mine.

  1. Our upcoming Krabi trip. The (very beautiful beach), relaxing resort and sumptuous Thai food. I can't wait!
  2. Having our washing machine fixed. I'm miserable without it so getting it all fixed up will definitely make me haaapppyy!
  3. Getting a new bed to replace the old one that was too soft it was giving me chronic backpain. New bed, make your way here already! I needed you a month ago.
  4. Getting a new toaster oven. I can finally bake! I think. It's too small though. Let me check the possibilities.
  5. A party this weekend. Parties are always good. Especially when gift-giving is a breeze. Flowers will always make any girl's or gay's day.
  6. A productive day at work today. Such a feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction.
And tomorrow is another day. I'm sure that it will bring me and my loved ones, more things to be happy about.
