Slowly Settling In
Scotty adjusting to his new home. He has his toys and he's a happy dog!
We have moved ALOT and the kitchen is always the first area I need to get settled. It's a MESS!!
Our first eating out experience was really good. Sergio's mexican food. Man was I happy. I always have issues with the rice, but it wasn't too bad. Everything else was delicious.
This is the sorry excuse I have for a stove/oven. I have no idea how old it is, but it takes forever to bake anything. So sad and miss my nice one back in Utah.
There are usually some type of clouds outside. Everyone has these ugly wood fences around here and a small back yard.
Still a mess here. The room you walk into from the front door is a pretty big room. In the room in the living room, kitchen and dining room.. Good thing these are the 3 rooms I like to keep clean all the time.
Our tv was ready to work the day after we got here. Have to have TV!!
Slowly looking much better. We still aren't sure what to do with the stuff on top of the cabinets. We will get there!! We are short on storage space.
That's our house with the van. We have to walk to get our mail. It's a pretty quiet neighborhood. Not many people are outside during the day. It's just too hot to be out there. Even at night you really don't see many people. Most mom's work outside of the home too, so you don't really see kids out playing. I'm guessing they go to sitter's or camps or something.
A really cool double rainbow I caught just this weekend. You could actually see the starting and ending points of both.
It was super bright at the bottom of the rainbow. I didn't see any gold. :(
The Drive to Houston
The above photo is the beginning of our LONG journey. We left our house in Orem around 11 am Tuesday. Christian and Jimmy drove the Penske truck and I drove the Odessey with the other 3 kids and Scotty. We decided to folllow the guys which was interesting up the hills. Emalee took all of the photos. At first it was going to be documenting the trip of the Penske truck. It's in all of the pictures because they were in front of us. It turned out to be a game for awhile.
As you can see the clouds were around and we ended up getting some weather all through Moab and a little further. Not fun to drive in.
Some really cool scenery. I had never been to this area of Utah.
I think this was in New Mexico. I really can't remember though.
This was a cool forest area. Don't ask where ?
We made it to Texas!! Let's just say that it's the beginning of Texas!! We drove for a VERY long time after that.
Scotty spent the whole trip either on Emalee's lap or on the space by her feet. He did really well.
College Station, Texas isn't too far from Houston. Maybe 2 hours or so.
Typical Texas, 2 lane highway with a median in the middle. We saw that most of the drive. Very green and lots of trees. It was a pretty drive.
Finally on the 290!! We are getting closer!
OUR exit!! Only 10 minutes from our new home.
Our first stop was in Farmington, New Mexico. We had no idea what to eat so there was a Denny's right next door. I took the 4 kids and we ate there.
Alex and Jimmy got to sleep on the floor. Alex was super tired.
Reagan all cozy in her bed. The big kids in the background.
