If

"If" is a very poisonous word.
What if I did this differently, then maybe that would happen?
What if I hadn't gone there, then I wouldn't be in this mess?
What if?
What if?

The "then"s that come after the "if"s are just as poisonous.
A scenario that you'll never now can plague you like a cancer.

An accident renders a lot of "What if"s
What if we hadn't taken that road?
What if we'd gone the other way?
What if we didn't go at all?

If.
They are the devil's playthings.
Injecting you with self-doubt, or worse,
that you may doubt Him.

I take comfort in all that happens, there is a hikmah
Call me naive.
My faith is with Him.

The Beauty...

Image
...of being an English Literature major is that we were exposed to so many briliant works that there's never enough time to devour them all.
To have read World Literature in English opens one's mind to others' worldviews and cultures, which is simply extraordinary that it somewhat beats traveling.

...of being an English Literature major from an Islamic-based university is that we were exposed to the remarkable (translated) articles written by accomplished Muslim scholars from the golden years of Islam.

...of being an English Literature major is that our journey through the world of literature doesn"t end once we've received our degree.

Cars

My first car.
A secondhand Kancil.
Blue.
The car that built my confidence in driving by myself, as an independent woman.
Fond memories of driving to and from college, to see Husband.
And that time we had dinner on its roof.
And that time we had to change a flat tire on the highway.

The Orange Naza Suria.
A present from my parents.
The car that greeted us once we became Husband and Wife.
The car that Husband drove to drop me off at the college, then he'll be off to work.
The car that I'll wait in whilst blasting Maroon, waiting for Husband to be done with his Friday meetings.

Our car.
The Proton Exora.
The wonders of limitless journey.

Thank you all.

Blood is Family

I love TV.
And I love shows that portray a great family.
Like "Brothers and Sisters". The Walkers make me laugh and cry without fail.

Then there's my new obsession; The Reagans.

ImageMeet the Reagans

"Blue Bloods" caught my attention during the Fall 2010 TV line-up due to the fact that it stars Donnie Wahlberg.

Image
No, I'm not a NKOTB fan. I was way too young to be one. (Although my mother says she had a video of me at age 5 doing the 'Step by Step' routine.)
But I've loved Donnie Wahlberg since "Band of Brothers" and "Boomtown".

And now, "Blue Bloods".
This show is awesome.
And I definitely love the Reagans.
