Sweet Siblings

Standard

In attempt to avoid going to bed, Archer loves to snuggle up in Sophie and/or Truman’s bed before I put him in his crib. This particular night Sophie and Archie both crawled into bed. I tucked them in, said goodnight, and turned off the lights just to see what Archer would do. He seemed pretty cozy there and wasn’t happy when I took him away to go to sleep for real in his own crib. =)

Eat Up

Standard

We closed on the house, but aren’t moving for a couple more weeks.

Here we are enjoying our first meal at the new house, while dropping off a few boxes.

In case you can’t tell, those are Chick-Fil-A nuggets the kids are eating. Yum!

We’re Moving!

Standard

I never thought I’d say this: Justin and I are homeowners in Virginia!

Image

We finally bit the bullet and decided to commit to the area (for 3-5 years anyway =).

Here are some more pictures.

Happy Mother’s Day

Standard

Truman’s class had a fun little Mother’s Day Celebration.

First they sang us two songs about how much they love and appreciate us.

(Truman is in the back left under the white board)

Then they served us muffins and juice. They had to bring all the moms their food before getting any themselves.

It was such a nice token of appreciation from my kindergartener.  He can be such a sweet boy!

Goodness, Gracious, Great Falls…National Park!

Standard

What to do on a Sunday afternoon when Justin is out of town and Archer is too sick for me to take him to the nursery at church (meaning none of us could go to church)?

Head to Great Falls National Park, of course.

Enjoying the view.

The falls. We were lucky enough to see kayakers tackle the rapids too!

There was a lot of rock climbing, ball and rock throwing, river poking, and stick collecting performed (and obviously a lot of picture taking too).  The kids couldn’t have been happier!

It turned out to be a wonderful alternative to being stuck home all day with nothing to do, plus it was a beautiful day and the kids had a great time exploring the park.

Zoo Field Trip

Standard

Truman’s kindergarten class took a field trip to the zoo.

I wasn’t an “official chaperone”, but Archer and I were happy to meet up with the kids and walk around with them.

Archer and I got to the zoo before the bus arrived, so we had some waiting around to do.

“Archer, wait for mom.”

“Where’s the bus?”

The kids finally arrived! Off we went to look at some animals!

From the start, the older boys only had one thing on their mind – the play areas!  They couldn’t stop talking about the prairie dog tunnels and the pizza playland.

Finally after seeing a few animals, the real fun began!

That’s one big mushroom!

Image

Walking on top of the tunnels was just as fun as crawling through them.

“Hey, there’s a monkey on your back!”
Guess how many times I heard that when I was at the zoo?!

Hey boys, did you have fun at the Zoo?

Image

I’d call it a success!

Archer had fun running off his last bit of energy on this big hill before heading home.

He fell asleep in the car before we even left the parking lot.  A successful trip all around.
